Not sure if thats the case, but it makes some sense... I think a simple solution to that would be an option for your account to not show up in google searches
Chess.com account shows up in google search
Clearly you don't know how the internet works
Fine, but facebook has this option "do you want search engines outside of facebook to link to your profile?" I wish chess.com had an option simillar to this ![]()

If you don't want to have your username pop-up when people search it, use something people will never search
Thats not the problem, my account shows up when I google my name and surname, not my username... but the thing is that my chess.comm account is not linked to facebook/google in options and its not mentioned anywhere in my profile... so how does the internet work? ![]()
Before this thread goes any further into the weeds would someone please take a moment to explain how the internet works!
Exactly, when I google search my real name the first thing that comes up is my chess.com account with my real name and after that (thelegendhimself222) and I just think thats dumb, I had my account connected to facebook before, but now its disconnected from both facebook and google, so why does it still show up? I think that there should be an option like the one that facebook has, I mentioned it above ![]()

If you don't want your name to show up on the internet, don't use the internet. It's as simple as that.
You dont understand my point... why would my name show up if its not mentioned anywhere, my account is not connected to google or facebook... why isnt there a "do you want search engines outside of facebook to link to your profile?" option, but for chess.com? That option would be great ![]()
You clearly don't understand how the internet works, if you did you wouldn't have posted this forum to begin with.

Already asked you to explain how the internet works, but you never did...
you just ignored it and kept replying with your bs with no real info/help, probably a troll ![]()

Hmmm... let me think. Ok, here's a basic explanation:
Once you put something on the internet, it's there forever
Whenever I google my name, the first thing that shows up is "name surname (TheLegendHimself222) - Chess Profile"
The thing is that I haven't connected my chess.com account to google/facebook and my name is not mentioned in my profile, but it still shows up, is there a way I can remove my account from showing up in a google search?
