Chess.com Clubs League

Please see following message from Abel about our participation in the Clubs League:
The Mechanics’ Institute will be participating in the Chess.com Clubs League, and we will have a team of between 15-20 players, all rated over 2000. This was done to stay competitive in the league while still utilizing players with ties to Mechanics’ and the Bay Area. We appreciate all the support for our team, as well as our club matches, many of which are open to all and our daily live online tournaments.

One more thing with regards to league. We also did not want to open it to all club players because more often than not we would not be able to play everyone that registers. For example, if an opponent has only 12 players, and we recruited 30-35 to play, only our top 12 would play, and the rest would be disappointed. We didn't want to create an expectation of participation only for it to not be there. Hope this helps. -Abel

Fair enough, thanks for the information. I think this is an exciting opportunity for the club. I would sıggest to also assign some strong reserve players in case some players of the main team do not show up. I suppose there is a minimum number of players that each team has to bring to the match.
Good luck to all Mechanics players.

Chess.com is organizing an official clubs league. Would such a league be of interest to the Mechanics?
