Chess Database

Hello, everyone!

It's my first post here.

I would like to ask a question about databases. I know there is ChessBase, there is Chess.com library and LiChess allows you to create a repertoire. However, I was looking for a way to create a database offline, preferably for free. Do you have any knowledge on this and a suggestion to make?

Thanks for reading and your help.

Have a fantastic day!

365Chess is a possible database; although I don't know whether it requires payment. If this is something you don't like, you can Google "chess databases" and it will display various databases you could use.

Please DM (direct message) me if you need any more information.

If you want to create a database of master games yourself I suppose you could go to sites like this one: https://www.chessgames.com/perl/chess.pl?tid=55015 and download pgns and put them together...

does chessbase not allow offline version??

Thanks for your useful suggestions. I'm doing research on it and found pretty interesting things. Thank you!

Thanks for your tip! My main goal is to create a database for my opening repertoire, but the link you gave me has pretty interesting stuff. Thank you!

Thanks for your contribute. I didn't know about this database, it is very good. However, is not what I'm looking for, because the database I want is with my repertoire and not other's games. Regardless of that, thank you!

ChessBase is offline. However, it is a pretty expensive software and my goal was finding alternatives to it. Thanks for your participation!

This is not quite what you are asking about, but I have compiled some libraries from Chess.com's database geared to.a few chess books. You can view them in my blog https://www.chess.com/blog/Bruce_Hedman/libraries-from-chess-coms-database

The Week In Chess provides collections of recent tournament PGNs, and you could download those and combine them in a database.

That's a pretty hard work to do and you really made it. Congratulations! Not what I asked, as you said, but I will love to follow that and other things that you accomplish. Thank you very much!

Thanks! In this specific case, I want to do a manual thing, with ideas for me to study and play. Thank you for the comment!
