Hi!
I believe it to be a great idea. But I also have to admit that I have no clue what the actual pool would look like.
Whether it will have numerous people playing classical games on a regular basis, or not? I just have no idea whether there is demand for the classical time controls on chess.com.
As far as I know, the most popular time controls are those available in the first selection menu.

like 30 minute to 1 hour games, to prepare for longer time control OTB tournaments because its hard to find someone who wants to play a 1 hour game with you who lives like right next to you

A classical time control already exists of course. I think the real suggestion was recognizing it as a own category (Classical) and adding a classical rating.
This is already planned and is potentially in development currently.
However it seems to be very difficult to implement and therefore takes time.

They frequently lose because they abandon games because they won’t spend lots of time playing this. This creates a negative experience for players of this type of game.

There are plans to include a Classical rating pool, that would include existing timing formats over a certain minimum.

25 + 10 seconds would be ideal

When you start a classical chess game, chess.com can warn you that the games can be very long, more than 40 minutes, and ask if you want to continue.
I think someone already brought this up, but what do you guys think about having a chess.com classical chess, I think it would be really neat to be able to play online classical not just on lichess, but also on chess.com.
