Chess already is a game of strategy. Also, this just makes it take longer, I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Worth trying though.

Clinging chess is a variant where whereever your piece rook/queen/knight/bishop. moves. (not including pawns.) if theres another piece in a 1 square radius. they both cant move for 2 moves.
and instead of checkmating you must capture the king, making this is a game of strategy.
when a PAWN captures a piece everything in a TWO block radius gets clinged. if a pawn captures another pawn this may not happen.

How are they being mean? Also, to "add" a custom variant, you need to go through staff examination and more procedures to do so.

Chess.com is buggy so they probably won't add more varients which would add more bugs
