No, but that is the solution to test non-beta. Leave to test, then rejoin.

I don't want to 😟 I want to remain a beta tester, but use the old version when necessary. Just like it was during the final transition to V3... Can't this be done now also? After all, this will allow you to do testing in a more relaxed atmosphere

When v3 was in testing, you had to leave to go back to the old version. It's not really any different.

@Tournamentix, yes, I understand what you mean, but it's inconvenient... Now there are still two versions in parallel - why not add the ability to switch between them for us?

They are not parallel sites. Bring in the beta enables beta features to be loaded but it's the same site

I remember that back then it was possible to switch between versions after quite a long time after the introduction of a new version. The same went for "Live Chess" for the site

I did not write that these are different sites, I wrote versions. Why can't you add the ability to switch between these versions for Beta members without leaving beta?

Yes, there was a Switch link that enabled switching between sites. That process is equivalent to leaving beta on your settings and rejoining there.

Live vs Play were different and those were two separate interfaces running at the same time.

Because that is not how the beta code is implemented. Being in the beta forces beta code to load. You can't be in the beta, in your settings, and not load beta code.

I don't think it's correct to call it equivalent, because, again, it remained available for a long time after the transition to the new version. So it had nothing to do with Beta. What prevents you from repeating the experience, now, but not for all players, but for beta testers? Much less load on the site in comparison... And why do I have to constantly go into settings in order to leave Beta? It is very uncomfortable 👀

Unfortunately, I don't understand... Are you saying that it's technically difficult to implement?

I'm saying the way beta code runs is by you having beta enabled in settings. That setting is what controls that access.

v2 and v3 were completely different websites, hooked into the same back-end data

And if turned off - does not work? In general, okay, it doesn't matter. I suggested what seems right to me - if you don't see the point in it and don't want/can't add what I'm asking for - fine, so be it

@Martin_Stahl, what do you do when you want to see how a feature works out of Beta? For ordinary members like us it's not that big of a deal but if you are an admin in the club, how do you leave?

Very carefully. tongue

I actually use a test account.

Ah, that's what I thought.

So far there have been about 15 years of developing how clubs work. There have been many, many, many changes made by the website to the clubs format over the last 15 years. And he says the UX sucks. (With the OLD format). So isn't he saying the website developers have sucked for the past 15 years.

I have seen many, many, many suggestions, good, bad and ugly, submitted by members and I don't see that any of this new format has anything to do with any of those suggestions.

It really, really sounds like the staff just got bored and decided to shake things up for no good reason. If you want to change the way clubs look and feel, did you ask any of the members how to do it? I sure don't remember any of that.

The OP just posted a screenshot of @jdcannon asking club admins what they would like changed.

Whether they integrated their input or not would require testimonies from the people that did get interviewed.

The post referenced was in the Club Admins club, which theoretically has many active club admins in it. So the site solicited feedback and had interviews with them and included a designer from the info posted. Can't say how many admins went through the process.

@Martin_Stahl: That would be an interesting question. @jdcannon posted his comment and closed the forum. There are no other comments. No way to imagine the reaction or any other element of the process.

Until now, there is only one person, who has posted being interviewed. That's their yesterday's statement:

Avatar of Martin_Stahl

Oh, I'm confident it was more than that and there were a lot of reactions to it. happy

The request was for direct contact and I'm pretty sure if enough people didn't contact him, he would have requested again.
