I asked if it's working as they expect and if so, if there has been discussion as it pertains to the discussion on the sort in this topic.

Does the people who wrote the spec realize that what they expect is totally useless and doesn't make any kind of sense? It's not even a sorted list, it's an agglomerate of data that don't correlate one to the other, and is totally pointless for any purpose. Do they work with use cases? I'd be curious to see the justification for the requirement that lead to this implementation.

I don’t think maybe they understand that rating order list which was in daily order is used frequently by admins to target club members to join matches. We have 8000 members in Team Australia and about 2000 play daily games. If we want 1500 rated players for a match they used to be easy to find. I don’t want to see blitz players there. When players are needed for live matches they use other means to find them.

I know we have the daily leaderboard but it doesn’t show everything and takes more effort to find what you are looking for. More work! I used daily leaderboard the other day.

This topic has been read by staff,. As mentioned, some clubs may prefer daily ratings and some live. So, the implementation may change based on feedback but some mechanism to allow different sorts by rating pool might actually be a better fit for all clubs.

Please list all players by Daily Ratings. Of all the recent changes that have made an admin's job much more difficult, this is one of the most offensive! For every 100 clubs that prefer players be listed by daily ratings, how many clubs would prefer a list based on live ratings. Granted, I don't know all clubs, but of all the clubs that I and my many friends admin...zero would prefer listing players by live ratings.

It’s not in daily order or live order. It’s mixed and sorted in what rating a person has highest. So all types mixed up.

So not useful to anyone. Like has been pointed out. These rating types are very different and shouldn’t be compared. Or sorted on.

I am in clubs that do everything and we’d prefer daily rating order.

Just one more time a screen capture of our member list in rating order.
A daily rating, 2 blitz ratings, 2 rapid ratings, another daily rating etc.

Here’s an example of why it is essential for team admins to be able to see daily ratings in order . A knockout cup quarterfinals match starts shortly and we need to contact all of our players rated between 1600 and 1800 requesting them to join the match . How long would it take to go through hundreds of members one by one to find those in that rating range ? This , along with the top players list is the most important thing to get fixed for the survival of many teams and competitions.

You can use the leaderboard for your club. It’s not as good but at least it is sorted correctly by type there.

Wonder why they didn’t mix them all up there? And use the same design logic. (Please don’t do it).

Thanks for that Kookaburra. Not ideal, but it’s a help.

The Leaderboards are rating pool based.

Good. Something similar for clubs or at least a consistent order preferably daily would be nice.

Otherwise club member list by highest rating which was used a lot is now just useless. And whoever designed that as a feature has no idea. With members all mixed up. I’ll never use it or have since this redesign.

In my opinion, live ratings should always take second place to daily game ratings. Granted there are clubs that play live chess, but a simple News Post would let people know about those matches. They're not as significant as daily matches are. Especially when tournaments are involved.

That’s exactly right. I am in club that’s does live and daily and vote and live matches are organised in a different way. It’s more about publicity of when they are on and getting people to show up. No point in targeting a particular player or players in live if they won’t show up. It’s about promotion of a match in live.

They are still significant and important but organised differently.

"Highest Rating" list is very good example how far away Chess.com's priorities are from us: They "design", what ever looks fine for them. It's quite easy to understand, that different lists for different time controls would be useful, isn't it? In addition they even don't explain their decision to mix everything up within a few minutes ... and go on to something other ...

Bye the way: The King Clash Royale Club, one of two Chess.com's clubs for this month's special events (and probably the reason for all the hurry releasing club redesign) has nearly 24,000 members now ... just based on an announcement and without any visible content, moderation or administration: That's their world of clubs.

Avatar of Kookaburrra

Maybe they rushed this through for a deadline. I read that they are working with the creators of the Clash Royale and Clash Clans. Just guessing of course. Certainly seems prematurely released.
I prefer chess myself. (and I play checkers).

Avatar of Kookaburrra

If you take all the big clubs we run. We’d have many more than 24000 people playing. Team Australia has nearly 9000 and we delete people who aren’t active within a year. And we are just one World League club.

Avatar of Kookaburrra

They have one more member. I just joined the king one. See what they are up to. What all the fuss is about? Why this gets priority over our decade old clubs.

Avatar of Kookaburrra

Theirs doesn’t even work. Newest member order worked.

I guess it times out the same way the daily match top player list does.

Considering the lack of dénégation from Martin, and the fact that the update seems more and more to be about the looks than than the functions (as I put it somewhere: for people that chat and have fun but don't play chess), I start to believe that the Clash thing is the reason all of us (propably managing all together more than the 24000 members of that club) are now struggling with our unpaid daily duties that are nonetheless supporting cc.
