White has a forced win by pushing the e-pawn and anything not blocking 5 threats Bc4/Bb5 and Qf3/Qg4/Qh5

In Double Move Chess, White's first move is a single move, so they would not be able to set up anything that is a substantial threat

Actually, having have had the idea of double move chess for a while, I'll give my ideas to the general gamerule, discounting atomic:-
-You can make the amount of consecutive turns a player has as long as you want
-Every time a player takes a piece, their turn ends
-Checking a royal will also end your turn.

So basically, lots of opportunities if this were to be implemented.

See, the reason forced mate is hard, its because the first time you either check or capture your turn ends, so checkmate is stopped (Well, mostly...)
Also, there are lots of oppurtunities stemming from the fact that both players can make more than one move, so even though some checkmates may be stoppable, there will also be ones that are impossible to stop.
(Thats concludes my Ted talk on this...)

Now that I think about it, it's always going to be impossible to checkmate because of the turn ends when checking rule, and if you try to make use of pins and whatever, the opponent can just get out of the pin and continue on his infinite king march because of the same rule. so unless you can cover every single square on the board, you can't win. also another problem with that is infinite shuffling

But when you get the capturing rule as well?

I don’t know really, this stuff is kinda melting my brain…

Also, another thing is that it would be best to make it two moves for each player, as this is the least likely to lead to shuffling in normal chess
