i'm not color blind at all and its still hard sometimes
Computer analysis
btw how are you a pianist if you are colorblind and say that color blind people can't play chess? can't you still differ black from white?
I'm not sure what feature you mean with the color coding, but would ??, ?, ! and !! work in the computer analysis mode instead of the colors you're referring to?
@Bad_Dobby_Fischer That makes me feel better... and there's 2 type of color blind which is fortunately being made aware to the general public, so most people question how I can do most things normally. I can differentiate colors (some of the time) but other times I have no clue. I should have made people aware that there's confusion that color blind people can't tell the difference between black and white (because that's the world we live in... or at least I live in #RIPme ).
@richard_peterson the extra notations of ??, ?, etc. would make sense (especially for blunders) but I feel that !, and !! aren't used? and imagine if ! means good move, and all your moves are "good" but not "excellent" you would be seeing things like e4! Nf3! Bb5! for example which could get very annoying, very quickly. If you don't do the analysis on a computer (I think I've tried on the app and I didn't get colors) it will show blunders as red, mistakes as yellow, or something, excellent as black, good as green, and gray as the one in-between which I can't remember... (sad I know...)
OK first of all, I love what chess.com has done so far with the analysis boards and how they can color code each move, to indicate whether a certain move is an "excellent" or a "good" move. It also runs pretty smoothly. A suggestion I would like to make however, is for an optional setting (maybe it doesn't have to be for the whole site right now) for color-blind people. I know this might seem strange as color-blind people playing chess does not make much sense... but I am colorblind and it's hard for me to tell the difference between the green, gray, and black? I know in other games they have settings for color blind people and it'll change the colors from red and green to red and purple or something similar. Just makes some sense to appeal to make it easier for people like me. It doesn't have to be a huge change to the entire site, I'm just suggesting for now, have an optional change for the color scheme of specifically the computer analysis (because everything else is customizable e.g. the chess board, and pieces). Thanks for reading!
