Custom themes suggestion

This is just a suggestion, for what it's worth, and maybe you guys already have this in mind. I'm guessing that when custom themes arrive, users will be able to customize their site backgrounds with a chosen image or colors, but not customize their chosen pieceset. I'd like to suggest that members be able to upload one custom pieceset to use on the site boards. If this is a prohibitively difficult technical task, then never mind, but I just thought I'd suggest it.

There aren't custom themes in v3!

Chess.com designed some awesome themes that will be preset and that you can change in your settings :)

You are right! But theme customizations is changing!!

Will any features be removed?

Yes. One of the goals of this project is to make Chess.com a leaner, more elegant site, with less old (and mostly unused) code to maintain as we move forward. So, with much deliberation and careful attention to our web-traffic analytics, we made some cuts: Photos, Chessopedia, Endless Quiz, Downloads, “Local” club & event directories, and Shop Online.

Theme customization isn’t going away, but it is dramatically simplified (see below)

What will V3 look like?

So glad you asked! :) V3 is going to look amazing, with pixel-perfect pieces and boards, redesigned work-flows, and an overall tighter, more seamless user interface!

One of the biggest general changes is the main navigation menu, which is moved to the left as a single stack, offering one-click access to all core features.

We’re really excited about the new visual Themes that will be available with V3. They look fantastic and even include thematic sound effects! Choose from about 20 Themes, or mix and match elements to create your own custom theme. Like now, you can also upload your own background imagery as well. (We will no longer store multiple themes per user - although you can change your Theme as often as you like.)

I stand corrected.. Sorry, I mixed up my facts!! :(

Right. I'm suggesting that in addition to background images, users be able to upload custom piecesets. Maybe this can just be a premium membership feature, as an added bonus for paid members.
