daily puzzle

2 light-squared bishops and 8 pawns…
Also the pawns are on the wrong sides (White’s are 6th and 7th, Black’s are 2nd to 4th)… either side can promote here

Also, since the puzzle is highly impractical (for multiple reasons), I checked out what Stockfish had to say about the position:
At first, it says White is has an advantage, but after going through the top lines a bit, it says Black has the advantage.

It's not a closed position. White is playing up and black is playing down. How the pawns crossed the board? Magic
If we put the board right a pawn could've snuck through by taking a piece and then promoted to bishop. But white will have to shed a piece and black must shed a pawn. I'd suggest to get rid of that impossible (since you haven't taken anything yet) doubled pawn.

Oh I see what you did there
For anyone wondering, this Is not a closed position since black's actually moves down while White moves up, Just look at the coordinates

cant the pawn take that knight???!!
Look at the board, black pawns are in the 2nd rank. Black pawns starts from 7th rank and white pawns starts from 2nd rank. Pawns can go only forward. So, when a pawn reach 2nd rank, it can't take anything located in 3rd rank. So, Black pawn can't take the knight.
so its like they r going to be promoted but r stuck cuz of their own black pieces
