There is delay in four player. why not in live?
Delay Time Controls
This is off topic, but can some staff member undisable the club called "sougataghosh" please? I disabled it by mistake ![]()
Its only used in the US; it adds a lot of complexity and confusion for new players. Also, adding time controls means that everyone gets paired more slowly because less people are trying to play in each time control.
Well daily chess is already kind of delay.
Say you are playing a 3 day daily game. It's king of like you are playing a like 1 second game with 3 day delay
Indeed it is and I have suggested that daily chess has a clock time too, which would replace vacations.
So you could play 15 day with 36 hour delay, and you'd have essentially 36 hours to play your move, but if you didn't it would eat into your 15 day "vacation". It would do so by the minute.
I would quite like to play that time control rather than 3 days per move - it's half the time per move but with some allowance for not having to play that fast every move.
Yes, that would be pretty fun, with no vacation allowed
For now, in live chess, there is only incremental time controls. Why can't there be delay time controls?
