Determine Your ELO - What's Your Skill Level? [This is a forum from one of my own groups...]

Hello, there! Thank you for reading this forum! Are you ready to determine your ELO rating?

I assume you're here because you saw the word "ELO"? Well, as many of you already know, the ELO rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of chess players. If you currently are unaware of your ELO rating, then look no further! This forum, and website, will be able to help you!

http://www.chessmaniac.com/ELORating/ELO_Chess_Rating.shtml

This website has come to be known as the "Automated Chess Rating Utility". Before you use it, however, please know that the ELO rating you are provided with is an estimation!

Your "skill level" will be determined based on ten puzzles that you provide your own answer with. Please do share the results you receive once you complete the exam!

Thank you, sirs and madams! Good luck!

Yours Truly,

~ CalbaMan

Anyone know their actual Elo rating that can perhaps test the accuracy of this estimate?  I scored 1775.  I don't have any sort of OTB rating, so I would only have my Chess.com ratings to compare. But then again, Elo is a rating system based on a player's level of skill right? Whereas the rating one would get on Chess.com would be based on how you rank against the other players. Or am I mistaken?

I think that they both rate your skill. Although here your score is influenced by playing other players
