are you suggesting some kind of West Yorkshire League Dennis?
DOES JACK WANT TO BE A GIANT!!

No John! Far from it. Huddersfield have a team(used to have two) in the Calderdale League, this year they play home games on Wednesday instead of Thursday. Calderdale entered a team in the Watkinson(Wednesday) fixture clash!!Nick and Dave got their heads togather, loads of people playing chess!
My suggestion is more communication between Fixture Secretaries and players and Fixture Secretaries.
There is a posting on the YCA site regarding giant killing.

I mentioned Calderdale's fine achievement (after losing 4 players?). I didn't mention Dave's great Tal-esque victory, because sometimes words ........but sometime I'll pinch it from him. How much of the team spirit was down to this game?
Back to the point, Calderdale have now used ten players in the Watkinson, travelling is involved, so there is a balance between players' strength and availabilty(cars).
Not just for the Watkinson, the Examiner(h/c) & the Bill Lumley(h/c) too.
So the question I ask myself " If many players want to get involved on Wednesday, will we need more teams next year?"
This then seems to lead to the question if Calderdale invade Kirklees, will Kirklees invade Calderdale?(Monday)
Can Yorkshire little leagues(ie mid-week) organise fixtures to give the rich(ie those with transport) the opportunity to play all over(eg Leeds have League games when Huddersfield have handicaps.
I think there's a lot more to be said on this subject, hope I'm not the only voice.
