guys whats the best ways to enslave villagers

cuz i was trying to enslave a whole village this afternoon and i cant do it the villagers keep running away and i was playing on an old version without bells so i cant enslave villagers that way

plz help

just place down a work block like fletching table so they walk over, then break it go farther and place it down again and repeat

get the villagers into boats and connect the boats to a happy ghast

bruh guys im playing in 1.12.2 cant do neither of that

i play that version too did you try to break all of their beds and you to place 1 bed in wherever you like and 1 villager could follow you i didn't play that version in 2 years
