ECL 2016 - Division 2
Any official announcement about Bordeaux and Torino moving to Div 1 and Minsk and Novosibirsk to Div 2?
Since Bordeaux vs. Niš now can not be count for ECL, I must also stick with new rule and ask for counting match vs. Barcelona as double, although we previously reached an agreement about match postponement. There will be more than enough matches, and different rule is in charge now.
So, ECL R4: Grad Niš - Barcelona will be the same as WCL team match: https://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=628682
I have noticed Team Barcelona about our decision.

Hi Anastasakis,
Team Milano will not take part at the ECL2016.
Regards
Bery
In case a team from Division 1 withdraw, Team Bordeaux will preplace it. Next is Torino, Gdansk, Grad Nis.
In case a team from Division 2 withdraw, Team Minsk will preplace it. Next to follow are Novosibirsk, Marseille, Ufa, Burgas, Istanbul, Toulouse, Metz, Kosicky.
According to this, I will send a challenge to Ufa team instead of Team Milano.
I have doubts about activities of that group, SA is not on site for 6 months, 0 active team matches, only 2 active admins, both with very small number of chess.com points.
However, challenge is sent, let's see what will happen.

In case Ufa does not respond, next is Burgas
In case one more team withdraws from Division 1, next is Grad Nis
Match Challenges Sent
| Name | Players | Rating | Days/Move | Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ECL 2016 R1: Grad Niš vs. Ufa | 5+ | Open | 3 days | View |
Also, messages are sent to their two active admins, Vazum and gilmanoff but without any answer so far.
This is why I don't believe they are interested in this competition: https://www.chess.com/groups/matches/ufa-team-bashkortostan - only completed matches, Matches in Progress: 0
If Burgas will replace them, I would need to start negotiation to postpone that match, because one team match between our two teams is only recently finished (in WCOS 2015) and we are currently playing Chess960 team match (also for 2015 season). That 31st August looks nice for team Nis, now that we are free for that date because of the change in ECL rules.

Yes. But we are not sure if we will play in this league.

Hello,
Our two teams Grad Niš and Burgas should play in European Cities League, round 1. (related forum topics > ECL 2016 - Division 2 and ECL RULES 2016)
However, we have only recently finished our team match from previous season WCOS 2015, and currently playing Chess960 team match, also from previous season Chess960 WCL 2015.
So is it OK for your side to postpone our match for some later time during this year?
Last date for starting postponed matches is 31st August and it is perfectly fine for us to use this date for match vs. Burgas. If you agree about this, you can expect a challenge from me on 21st August
What do you say?
Best regards!
Stefan, Grad Nis-City of Nis SA
Hi Kyiv and Burgas, If I understand well you wish to count your match for ECL2016 as well, is that correct?
Round 3: Prague vs Marseille - https://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=647722
Due to existing Rule
If two teams play in the same division for both WCL and ECL they should play double match except those cases when both teams agreed to play separate matches.
please count for Team Kyiv in ECL as well for R1 match against Barcelona https://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=618180, and for R3 match against Beograd https://www.chess.com/groups/team_match?id=592822
