I know this is the Gambit Gang, but until I get my feet wet with all the sensational counterattacks that Black is offered, I am looking for two solid choices against the King's Gambit, from people who are experienced in the line. At the moment, I am wary of totally venturing the ...g5 lines, so here's my choices...
Against 1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf 3. Nf3, I played ...d5 the other night and ended up swapping queens and having two bishops. I did well.
Now, how about against 3. Bc4? Obviously, these are the two main lines I will see when I play against the KG...when I see the others, I will deal with them one at a time.
I have a KG book, but you know how that goes...all kinds of lines, but I want someone's personal opinions on lines they like to use that are easy to handle...any advice?
