Steinitz or Young or Bello or Baldwin Gambit for some context I plan on using one of these as my main surprise weapon at the 1800-2000 range for SLOW time controls

So my prefered opening as white is the Bird. And of course, my favorite gambit is the From, my normal response as black to 1. f4. However, when learning the Bird, I was shown a rather cute but unfortunately unsound gambit against 1. f4, d5. It's called the Williams Gambit (concieved by a mid-ranking chess enthusiast named William L. Williams). If declined, the gambit can transpose easily into a French, Caro-Kann, Sicillian, or Nimzovitch game. If accepted, black will surely be dumbfounded and weaker players (in blitz) may make easy to miss mistakes. Here is the so-called main-line followed by a couple of miniatures that show how Black can easily mistep. Once again, do not expect to play this gambit and win with any sort of consistency against stronger players! It's unsound, but still an entertaining thought. I hope you enjoy these real games, as played by Williams:

I entered a tournament to play the French Defense. Mostly because I wanted to play the Reti Gambit as white. Naturally, I started off all of my games as black, lol. One of them, I decided to try out the Franco-Hiva Gambit. I felt this would be a good exercise as I'm familiar with early f-pawn pushes. Anyway, I was quite happy with how quick the development can be! If anyone knows of any resources, I'd be interested in learning more.

Anyone know some good gambits for black? The main problem is that white never plays the moves I want. For example, the Albin Gambit, most people play e4. Against e4 i would like to play the Two Knights but most people go for a Ruy Lopez!

Another victory with my beloved ryder gambit. Could this gambit be played at master level? http://www.chess.com/echess/game.html?id=29860220

Lately, I've been losing with the ryder gambit, but in this game it was a different outcome. I'll probably only use it as a surprise weapon from now on seeing how it could possiblely be refuted. Well heres the game, enjoy !!!

Here's a couple games I played against a friend. They were unrated, and I decided to play 1. e4, which I very rarely play. In the first one, I sacrificed the exchange to create a mating net. In the second one, just for fun, I sacrificed a knight to open up the queenside and sacrificed another knight to try to corner his king. It managed to work. Enjoy!

Attached with this message is the first tournament game that I had played withthe Gibbins-Weidenhagen Gambit 1.d4 Nf3 2.g4. The is the opening that tookme to the Hawaii State Championship title in 1986. This was a match game vsReynolds Takata in 1982. We split the match 1-1 however I won this encounterwith my new gambit. Usually, when i play e4 and face 2 d5 i play 2 d4 heading to the BDG, but i saw this not too long ago and wondered if anyone has tried it before. Chess.com calls it the Leonhardt gambit, it's also called the Miese-Kotr...something gambit as well.
I took a look at the gambits that are played by some of the top grandmasters who favour gambits: Heikki Westerinen, Juan Manuel Bellon Lopez, David Bronstein, Michael Adams, Alexander Khalifman, Alexander Beliavsky, Alexei Shirov, Jonny Hector, Alexander Morozevich and Garry Kasparov. The gambits played by the most grandmasters were: 1.Queen's Gambit 1.d4 d5 2.c4 - 9 GMs 2.Benko Gambit 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 c5 3.d5 b5 - 7 GMs 3.QGD Semi-Slav Anti-Meran Gambit 1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Nf3 c6 5.Bg5 - 7 GMs 4.King's Gambit 1.e4 e5 2.f4 - 5 GMs 5.Ruy Lopez Marshall Counter Gambit 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 Nf6 5.0-0 Be7 6.Re1 b5 7.Bb3 0-0 8.c3 d5 - 5 GMs 6.Scandinavian Marshall Gambit 1.e4 d5 2.ed Nf6 - 4 GMs 7.French Winawer Maroczy variation 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 Bb4 4.Nge2 - 3 GMs 8.Vienna Gambit 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.f4 - 3 GMs 9.Caro-Kann Panov 1.e4 c6 2.c4 d5 3.cd cd 4.ed Nf6 - 3 GMs 10.Four Knights Marshall/Rubinstein 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bb5 Nd4 - 3 GMs

The basic idea is that White tries to drive the Black king towards the corner that is the same colour as his bishop.
Not too long ago, Cheers! Vote Chess Cafe scored a win with Romanian IM Cyprian Costica Nanu's rook sac line in the Sicilian Wing Gambit.
