I guess this thread is being followed by all those who are interested in this year's standings according to this year's framework.
EL2011 - Division 1

Omer, thanks a lot, but you really do not need to worry about the largest teams being at a disadvantage in this league
I appreciate that Team Turkey has understood and accepted how the rankings are being calculated in this year's EL (in the ways announced a long time ago, and explained once more for example here above). Of course it is perfectly fair to use this framework now, nobody seriously wishes to change this season's announced tiebreak rules at the very end of the season.
And I would like to emphasize that this thread is for the ongoing EL 2011, and not even for the entire EL 2011, but only for its Division 1. I really would not wish to spam this thread with discussions and long explanations of things that I think belong elsewhere.
Suggestions for EL 2012 and discussions and explanations about them should be done in a separate forum thread, shouldn't they?

Johan, as far as I know Team Romania won their game against Team Germany... look here on WL standings & results. Please advise

adriano, WL standings are going to be corrected at the end of the World League season, which is going to be after the end of the EL season.

last correspondence we had in WL directors, checking recalculation of recalculated recalculation of match ROM vs GER bring us to final result (it seems that EL cutoff will come in few days) where Romania won Germany

Adriano, I am sure the WL directors will count thoroughly enough at the end of the WL season to make sure they will get it right when it counts for the WL. In case of any doubt, the admins of the teams involved in the match will be happy to help to make sure that incorrect counting will not be the problem.

Mago, I had no special intention indicating that WL match has different result count from EL result for the same game. But I need to mention it as it makes El standings (at least second & third places) completely different than we have at the moment. Sorry if caused you any trouble by my previous message

I know that the currently announced WL standings are not reflecting the current status of that match's recalculations. That has not been a problem for the WL, as understandably the R8 pairings had to be done in a hurry (they were running late), and anyway the pairings for WL R8 would have been the same for either assumed outcome of that match.

Agreed. We'll wait until final result of this game will be fixed. Thank you for clarification

Omer, thanks for comparing me with a league organizer who is putting in so much work to keep this running well As an admin of a participating team, I am just interested in helping towards these aims when it might be helpful or necessary.
And while I am interested in discussing your suggestions for 2012 with you, I am sure it will be very helpful to separate that discussion from the ongoing 2011 Div 1 work in this thread.
I have written a pm to you.

Several match results adjusted according to input from ilmago and others:

I've also changed (fine tuned) the rounding-princples when calculating the scores.
No big changes, just a few points up and down for some of the teams, but no certain impacts on any results nor the standings.
Note! Seems very hard to get a proper formatting of the table Adjusted Match Results.

What moves faster? The mouse, the eagle, the antilope, the elephant, the airplane, ... ?
The correlation of percentage finished and match size is much smaller than the correlation of percentage finished with other, much more relevant factors.
If you want to discuss such details with me, doing so via pm may be best.
