Current results and standings for Division 2 updated:
http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/el2011---division-2---standings-and-schedule

All games started!
A lot of games finished.
The results are adjusted for some of the finished games.

Seem like Team Croatia going to win! However, they are heavily hunted by Team Ukraine, not so far behind. So, still a question who will win this division! Exiting!

But at this moment I would say that Team Croatia and Team Ukraine now are ready for EL2012 Division 1. Congrats!

Behind this two - as it seems - outstanding teams, are a whole bunch of teams fithing for getting the last 3rd place that will give a place in EL2012 Division 1. Exiting!

These four teams are fighting about this 3rd place:

Team Macedonia
Team Armenia
Team Belgium
Team of the Czech Republic

All of them are able for this, but Team Macedonia may are to hard to beat? Exiting!

In the bottom, are several teams fighting to keep their places in Division 2 for next season. Currently seems Team Portugal and Team Scotland - both are above the line - to be the stronger ones, but Team Finland and Team Latvia - both below the line - aren't so far behind. Seem like Team Moldova may are to far behind, but they are actually still in the match! Exiting!

The cheating players have certainly affected some games. Two games ended with draw have been adjusted in favour to Team Armenia in both cases. Team Moldova may worst affected and may a certain reason why they won't fix a place in Division 2 for next season.

Here some of the games that still certainly can impact on the final standings:

Team of the Czech Republic - Team Armenia Started 48 23-23 96% 96-96
Team Portugal - Team Scotland Started 72 28,5-35,5 89% 40-138
Team Belgium - Team Catalonia Started 88 41-35 86% 132-41
Team Portugal - Team Macedonia Started 72 34-24 81% 126-35
Team Belgium - Team Armenia Started WL 52 25-26 98% 48-148
Team Moldova - Team Latvia Started 38 14-15 76% 37-115
Chess Club Finland - Team Belgium Started 56 8-7 27% 40-13
Team Scotland - Team Armenia Started 66 7-4 17% 25-8
Team Latvia - Team Portugal Started 42 0-3 7% 3-11

All hard battles that can make a difference!

Almost all teams are involved in games that still certainly can affect the final standings!

We will following this till the "bitter" end! Wink

Current results and standings for Division 2 updated:
http://www.chess.com/groups/forumview/el2011---division-2---standings-and-schedule

A lot of matches have now finished, but there're still some exiting matches ongoing!

But I would say that the we now have a pretty good view of what will be the final outcome of all this.

CURRENT STANDINGS Status Matches Current scores Place Change
Team Croatia OK 11 1784 1 .+/-
Team Ukraine OK 11 1671 2 .+/-
Team Macedonia OK 11 1233 3 .+/-
Team Armenia OK 11 1147 4 .+/-
Team Belgium OK 11 1130 5 .+/-
Team of the Czech Republic OK 11 1071 6 .+/-
Team Catalonia OK 11 1047 7 .+/-
Team Portugal OK 11 979 8 .+/-
Team Scotland OK 11 912 9 .+/-
Chess Club Finland OK 11 721 10 .+/-
Team Latvia OK 11 697 11 .+/-
Team Moldova OK 11 511 12 .+/-

Preliminary conclusions:
Team Croatia will be the #1 - the winner of this Division!
Team Ukraine will be the #2.
TeamMacedonia seem to be the #3.
Team Armenia and Team Belgiun are fighting for to be the #4. Seem to be hard to beat Team Macedonia now.
Team Republic of Czech Republic and Team Catalonia are fighting for to be the #6. Seem to be hard beat the teams above.
Team Portugal and Team Scotland are fighting for to be the #8. Seem hard to beat the teams above. Seem to stay in Division 2 for next season.
Chess Club Finland and Team Latvia are fighting for to be the #10. But will hardly beat the teams above. Seem to move down to Division 2 for next season.
Team Moldavia seem to be the #12, and have to move down to Division 3 for next season.

Changes still may occur, so that some teams may switch order in the table.
But I believe we for sure now can welcome Team Crotia and Team Ukraine to Division 1 for next season, and Team Moldova for Division 3.

Yes that will be done. I've gone through pretty lot of games already, but there are more to walk through.

I think you should look into this game Round 3 Team Belgium vs Team Ukraine

Team Belgium seems to get a win, and this can benefit them trying to gather 3d place instead of Team Macedonia

For sure! It will definitively have dramatically impacts on the standings!

Just right now Team Belgium have 1,236 points, while Team Macedonia have 1,233 points. A margin of just 3 simple points.

So, in fact, Team Macedonia and Team Belgium is now hardly fighting for to be the #3!

We will follow the ending of this game since it is a true battle that can make a certain difference!

I'm not able adjust the results for all ongoing games before they are finished or the cutoff.  But this game could certainly have major impact on the final standings!

But what hapend with Team Belgium ? They lost against Team Macedonia, losing in the game with Team Finland, and what abaout this game http://www.chess.com/groups/team_match.html?id=78691  ??? Why is not  a win 26.5-25.5 for Team Armenia but is wrote a  DRAW?!?! Please i want some answer...

Maybe it was some bug of chess.com, anyway Armenia was awarded by win, please check Division 2 table

Comment: Yes. The final result in that match is not yet updated into the standings, but at the last update Team Macedonia was leading with 44-29 which resulted in the current scores 158-39, which already have been included in the last updates.

...., losing in the game with Team Finland,

Comment: Chess Club Finland is current leading with 20-17 which would give the scores 101-31. At last update was they leading with 14,5-12,5 which gave the current scores 73-23 which also have been included in the last updates.

Comment: This game is now finished, and the final results will be updated at next update. At last update was the current result 26-25 in favour to Team Armenia when a single game remained to finish. That game is now finished, but the final results in this match will be announced and included into the current standings at next update. Observation: The result in this match is noted as 26.5-25,5 in favour to Team Armenia, but also as a draw. We will count all the individual games and report the proper result at next update. This could have certain impact on the final standings.

Team Belgium is playing a hard game against Chess Club Finland. Chess Club Finland have to win this game to be able still fighting for bet above the line and stay alive in Division 2 for next season, while Team Belgium have to win the game to ensure keep the position as #3 and be promoted to Division 1 for next season. Team Belgium still some games to finish, just as Team Macedonia, so the battle between them are still most exiting!

There's also a battle ongoing about to be the #6 between Team of the Czech Republic, Team Catalonia, and Team Portugal.

And Chess Club Finland is agressively hunting behind Team Scotland. One of them will stay in Division 2 for next season. As mentioned Chess Club Finland is now leading with 20-18 against Team Belgium, while Team Scotland is leading against Team Portual with 35,5-33,5. Let's assume that Chess Club Finland proceed leading and winning against Team Belgium, and that Team Portugal succé return and winning against Team Scotland, that may would result in that Team Macedonia passing Team Belgium and move up to Division 1 for next season, while Chess Club Finland passing Team Scotland and keep staying in Division 2 for next season.

There're also other exiting games ongoing, but it seem like the games mentioned above are the most crucial ones at it seem like now.

Now all match results adjusted due to cheating also for ongoing games. Please check the table in the last comment that shows all adjustments. Please check this and report any deviations!

Team Belgium is still fighting for to be the #3 against Team Macedonia.
Team Belgium currently holding tied against Chess Club Finland. If they cannot keep that will Team Macedonia may passing.

Since last update have Team Portugal moving up two positions. There's still a battle about to be the #6.

I would say that the battle in the bottom now also almost are over. However, Team Scotland currently holding tied against Team Portugal. But it seem like Chess Club Finland hardly can change this, even if they win over Team Belgium, and Team Scotland losing against Team Portugal.

So, minor changes still can make differences for some of the teams in this division!

There're still matches ongoing that could have certain impact on the final standings. As you can see in the table above, the margin between Team Belgium and Team Macedonia is very small and could still change! And Team Portugal, Team of the Czech Republic, and Team Catalonia is still fighting about to be the #6.

Matches that still certainly could have impact on the final results and standings are:

MATCH LIST Status Games Current points Complete Current scores
Team Ukraine - Team Belgium Started #* 80 34,5-43,5 97,5% 43,3-151,7
Team Latvia - Team Belgium Started 42 16-22 90,5% 38,8-142,1

Team Ukraine - Team of the Czech Republic Started 84 66-13 94,0% 170,7-17,4
Team Latvia - Team Portugal Started 42 15,5-24,5 95,2% 37,4-153

If Team Belgium win one single more game against Chess Club Finland before midnight, will they definetively ensure to be the #3. But if not, and if Team Macedonia win single games in their remaining matches, at the same moment as Team Belgium losing singe games in their remaining games, then could Team Macedonia still passing Team Belgium now before the very final end.

If Team Portual win a single more game (and not loss anyone) against Team Scotland before the midnight, will the ensure to be the #6. On other hand, if Team Scotland instead win a single more game against Team Portugal, will most probably either Team of the Czech Republic or Team Catalonia be the #6. So, if Team of the Czech Republic or Team Catalonia win some single games, then could it be an exiting evening for all these three involved teams, and who will be the #6.

So, it's too early cutoff for Division 2, and we will wait till the evening before making the final cutoff for this division!
