Engine Analyser

Some time ago I bought a 1959 UNI-VERSEL UNILOADER. It has a V4 air cooled Wisconsin engine model VH4D. I rebuilt the loader over the past summer, and it works very good.

In the proses of tuning the engine it occurred to me why not build a engine analyzer for this engine, and maybe bring the ignition system up to date. It all so has a built in alternator in the flywheel, and the old style rectifier/regulator.

I want to design this analyzer around a basic stamp2 module. I believe the BS2 is more processor than I need, but think it will work very well for this project.

In the near future I'll post some schematics to ponder over.

Also some preliminary programing code in PBASIC.

This analyzer will monitor:

1- rpm's

2- monitor engine timing

3- measure oil pressure

4- measure starting amp's

5- monitor charging system (AC & DC)

6- measure intake air flow for making air/fuel adjustments

7- sample exhaust for making air/fuel adjustments

Not sure if you can post files. Maybe try posting an image in the photos section; I'm not sure of the size limits. You should be able to post a link to an external site or dropbox otherwise.
