Ok,who has the bacon? I want to address Mark first, I hope it is starting out as a good day for you. I would suggest tonight or whenever you have some free time, take your favorite show and go into a dark room and enjoy your favorite product, then let the show begin, you need to listen to it in the highest volume you can handle,it has always  worked for me being tranported to somewhere else,at least for a little while!

Ok, now Gordon question for you,was there a vote in Scotland on the 15th of this month for total independence. And if so what were the results? I am hoping I did not misread the article, and without this instrument I would not get this informationso readily! Have a good day man!

gbrown057

The vote for independence will take place in October 2014 (2 years from now). The terms were agreed on 15th of this month, which is why you're slightly mixed up.

Thanks Gordon, how do you feel about it?

M_D_S

Thanks Marc...I truly appreciate your concern for my state of being. That does sound like a good plan. "Move Me Brightly", a tribute to JG on the occasion of what would've been his 70th birthday, remains unheard. A strong perhaps I'll rectify that.

I missed the bacon yesterday, but had some barbecue, which isn't bad at all. So

2. I agree many inventions are a great help, but if a shiny new thing were foisted on us when the old one were still serviceable, now that's not very nice.

2. And I agree that "Too much of everything is just enough" is no rule to live by

cladclan

Ah yes Bokek but it is a great song!

gbrown057

Sorry my delay in replying to your question to me, Marc. I will vote Yes for Scottish independence.

3. As to tinkerers, I try not to open up laptops, after ruining good speakers and amps. But now to make my point. The average consumer would go for a replacement laptop with more 'advanced' features, much more than he needs. Much more than lit keyboard

M_D_S

Gordon, will Ireland get that same option? I played briefly with an iPad2 the other day. I must admit it was very seductive.

Bokek, yup!

gbrown057

The Republic of Ireland (Eire) is already an independent country (since 1921), not part of UK. Northern Ireland has shown no wish for independence. The IRA wanted Northern Ireland to become part of the Republic, but that is still a minority view.

M_D_S

I'm embarrassed by my ignorance!

gbrown057

No need. At least you asked!

M_D_S

I suspect I'm a more typical American than I like to think, in that my knowledge of world affairs is poor. "I've got the apolitical blues..." (Little Feat)

gbrown057

Some day I'll t ell you my Lowell George story...

M_D_S

I'm all ears. Wait, my telephone is ringing, might be Chairman Mao!

gbrown057

I just don't want to talk to him now!

M_D_S

haha...my man! I can't decide whether to put on my sailing shoes and go be a timeless hero at the Spanish Moon, or take a bath.

GD daily trivia: Lowell George was the producer on "Shakedown Street".

And tonight over here: don't the sunset look so pretty and ever such a sight...
