Thought it might be useful to trade recommendations of shows available on Archive that are both hot and have high quality fidelity and mix. One thing I'm looking for is shows from the 1980s with Bob Weir mixed at an adequate level. Far, far, far, far too m any shows from 1980 on have Weir and Phil mixed way, way too low in my book, usually with keyboards, drums and vocals mixed way too high. To me you should always be able to clearly hear each and every note that Bob, Jerry, and Phil play; NOTHING else should be mixed so high as to obscure that. Here are some suggestions from me to start things off. None of these are perfect, but all have Phil and Bob at least mixed adequately and one of the two of them mixed close to well. Plus the shows are hot. 1) https://archive.org/details/gd1981-05-02.135559.mtx.dusborne.flac16 2) https://archive.org/details/gd1981-07-04.sbd.miller.110199.flac16 3) https://archive.org/details/gd1982-05-23.mtx.seamons.102124.sbeok.flac16 4) https://archive.org/details/gd1982-10-10.mtx.seamons.ht02.110970.flac16 And this is an absolute gem from 1974. Portions of this show appeared on Dick's Picks 7, but unfortunately, and amazingly, Dick left off the incredible string after Seastones that went Space Jam-->Eyes-->Space Jam-->Wharf Rat. Ned Lagin is still playing with the band through much of this and he sounds fantastic (e.g., Eyes). This is some supreme stuff. https://archive.org/details/gd1974-09-11.132458.mtx.GEMS-BCE.flac16 Anyway, I hope others will bring forward some suggestions.

Amazon Prime now has a very entertaining show on that was marketed on DVD as "From Anthem to Beauty." Some really nice insights from band members, sound guys, recording engineers, etc. Funny as hell in places too. I really cannot recommend this show highly enough. If you haven't seen it before, you have a nice treat awaiting you. Amazon, of course, also has the Long Strange Trip movie available too. Also highly recommended.

Hours on youtube tonight. Listened to favorites, new and old. Girls Aloud, Dixie Chicks, Leeann Rimes, Nicole (something), Laura Niro, Tanya Tucker, Suzi Quatro. I wish our group could post videos like others do. Care to share your favorite lady music? How I miss Suzi Quatro!
I'm stacking up on games, even going to live chess while waiting for regular games to increase. So I could use mental coffee. Maybe a collection of thoughts on paradoxes, Of course a famous one would be the race between Achilles and the tortoise. The story goes that Achilles gave the tortoise a headstart. But then Achilles could not overtake the tortoise because once he covered half of the distance, he still had half to go. And once he covers half the remaining distance, he'd have half of that to go, and so on. What do you think? Wow, hot here! One of the provinces hit 40 Celsius yest.
Alrighty then. What has happened to the elusive Bokek, and why has he abandoned us!
Coming to a city or town near you soon. How do you feel about the system deploying these to keep an eye on you?

It isn't about the apocalypse, folks! It's about durable things we have personally observed. Maybe challenging spamming rules, but this group's honest enough to make economic gain take a back seat to friendship. A guide for the new year. To start, there's an amp I'm using. With me for more than 10 years. A/V amp 110 watts output Yamaha. Survived immersion in the Ondoy flood for half a day. Buttons sometimes stick, and input/output jacks gum, but usually cured by a blast of penetrating oil
We used to have dogs, cats, ducks, budgies, pigs, guinea pigs, chickens, but not at the same time. What pets do you keep?
One week before the fight, I wonder if Grateful people have anything to say about Manny Pacquiao, record holder 8-division World Boxing Champion.
Within the week is December 22, 2012, believed by some to be prophesied by the Mayans as date of the end of the world. By this weekend would we all be Grateful Dead? Your thoughts
What do the coming holidays mean to you ladies and men?

We may be the only country, other than the US, itself. strictly adhering to American English (is this an oxymoron?). Could you help me out so I don't get left behind by my colleagues and I can convese with my nephews and nieces. For instance, one of my opposing counsel used the phrase "out of left field". I sensed he meant out of place, and somehow connected to baseball; but what is the precise context?

First of all, I thank my friends for toasting my birthday. Now trying to drown a little hangover with coffee Now for the topic. I come from a science background so I unfolding technology has a natural attraction for me. Yet I believe our buddy M_D_S has much more hands-on expertise. Hearing of terabytes, clouds, gesture-cubes and what-not, I suspect the consumer is constantly drawn into this grand marketing net, masquerading as genuine increments to quality of life. The question: are we over-technologised?

First tim =e I conversed with my buddy Time_on_Target, it was clear he was an avid GD fan. I sort of felt sorry for him, thinking how disappointed he would be to find he was alone here. Then I found out what's what! Well in this topic I'd write down some rite or belief I know, and invite others to contribute or comment - till Nov. 1 passes. After attending a wake or a burial, you are not supposed to go home directly, lest the spirit accompany you home.

I've heard of GD a long time ago, maybe about the time I heard of Black Sabbath. And this was precisely why I was not attracted. GD? Black Sabbath? Megadeth? So you see. Nice GD music, but is there anything to the name?
