But I can forgive chess.com... the sound effect he made when I sacked a rook was kinda cool
The problem is that the game review labels are based on centipawn loss, and that is not the same as the practical value of the move. Inaccuracy just means the evaluation dropped by some amount. It’s a technical label. In real play it often doesn’t say much, because there are many positions where only one very hard-to-find move keeps the engine happy. If you don’t play that exact move, even a solid and principled choice can show up as an inaccuracy. At least in the review you can look at the engine’s best move and see why your move was scored that way, but from a human point of view the move can still be totally fine.
Gamereview is really bad in explaining. IF it explains, it says that you missed a better move or it says that you allowed your opponent to play a good move… Gamereview should have an AI maybe. Yes, it is expensive, but Gamereview is one of the main reasons why people buy premium memberships, I believe. Right now, it’s more confusing than helping. But it’s still good to evaluate your moves.
Yes chess.com I know it's not the 'best move' that's the definition of an inaccuracy. I need the WHY. I need to know WHY it is not a good move, because that is what game review is for.
For simple moves like recaptures and mates, I can understand, but a quiet move (like the example above) I need to know why is it inaccurate. For the example above, there was no clear better move. So, I need to know why so it can help me be a better chess player.
Once in a while is fine, but I see this pop up like 30% of moves.
