First, your opponent could make the move Qxe2. You would make the move Rxe2. Then he could make the move dxc4 or Rxc4. He would be a bishop up.

My opponent grabbed the h-pawn which made it a draw, despite him having 3 extra pawns.
I run my king to h1 and put my bishop on the a2-g8 diagonal.

I usually play daily games, so I take a lot of time to analyze many lines to make the most accurate moves. So I spend a month or more playing some games.
While doing this, sometimes I check games before bed or in the morning to instantly blunder a queen or rook............. A month wasted because I rushed.........
Someone needs to do a seminar on blunder checks. Blunders are the biggest pandemic in chess followed by chess cheating apparently.
ya'll this is quite off topic but what do i do when i'm in slump? about 2 weeks ago i reached 1700 elo in rapid, it was all good but all of a sudden it just went downhill from there and now i feel really bumped down. Any tips anyone?
Hey, hey, NK (like how that rhymes, lol),
So, I have been strutting through my house in my imaginary stilettos after reaching 400 ELO, so I can't help you on the chess skills front, but I have some "take or toss" considerations for the psychology of losing, as someone who has been an educator for 25 years and a former competitive runner.
1. Be aware of (and beware) behavioral conditioning principles in the online gaming world (and chess) and their effect on your psychological wellbeing: Specifically, look up intermittent reinforcement, where getting a metaphorical cookie only sometimes can cause one to keep going back to the cookie jar to look for a cookie (just do a basic Wikipedia search on operant condition and also intermittent reinforcement). And just a heads up, intermittent reinforcement is the most powerful behavioral conditioning technique, so again, be aware and beware of it's impact on your psyche.
2. Be mindful and aware of the psychological concept of "escalation of commitment," where you keep doing the same behavior despite diminishing returns (you can look the concept up in Wikipedia, too). This is the reason why gambling is so enticing and casinos always win (and people lose their house, spouses and lives). How 'bout just stepping back and taking a break from rated games to take the pressure off for a bit? Maybe find a friend who will just play a leisurely unrated game with you where the two of you talk on the phone while playing. Also, if you want a good laugh, you could always play me.
3. Consider reading Carol Dweck's book, "Mindset," which helps in developing a growth mindset.
4. Lastly, if your self-esteem feels strongly tied to your ELO, take some to consider ALL of who you are. I'm sharing this as a former successful competitive runner who grew up in a small town (think big fish, small pond). Your strongest defense against being reduced to a number is learning how to reflect on who you really are and what you have to offer the world and keeping the thing you love most FUN. This might be hard, and you might need a friend (or a therapist - I did), but don't let the game of chess, itself, checkmate you. You are more than the game.
Again, take or toss, if this doesn't fit your experience; I'm just writing from my own lived experience.
Warmly,

Sometimes we need to laugh so we don't cry. This is a great place to post a silly blunder or something funny that happened in one of your games. Please be supportive!
Here's one from a game of mine against a GM. I just played a bad move and my GM opponent resigned. Can you spot what we both missed about the position?
i don't understand why the opponent resign after your move, its just a queen trade?
Similar to the first game shown here, my opponent resigned (as I had an advantage until now), and I completely forgot about the possibility of 43.Rxd6 here (and my opponent missed it too).

If a queen trade without the discovered check, he would have won material due to a capture which probably happened on c4… the discovered check was what they both missed.
Somehow, in my brain, it made more sense for me to defend my queen rather than just take the free queen, lol. At least I saw that my queen was under attack. . . progress for me as a noob. I've lost enough queens to bring down an empire. Learning chess feels makes me feel like a high schooler learning to drive a stick shift. . . so many moving parts. . .
Non bisogna agire d' impulso, il bianco aveva lasciato la donna in presa e il nero doveva prenderla. Bisogna analizzare bene la posizione.
I have many games where I was a queen up and could not win.. This is called A TILT
