I have no idea what I was thinking. Daily game too, can't even use "time pressure" as an excuse.

I love that you said, "yeeted," lol. Tough loss.

Yup... I totally forgot about the bishop up there 🤓

We were down on the clock so I did a big (600) brain move (albeit kinda silly) with g5 on move 31. He took instantly and I got a nasty fork

Sometimes we need to laugh so we don't cry. This is a great place to post a silly blunder or something funny that happened in one of your games. Please be supportive!

Here's one from a game of mine against a GM. I just played a bad move and my GM opponent resigned. Can you spot what we both missed about the position?

i don't understand why the opponent resign after your move, its just a queen trade?

If a queen trade without the discovered check, he would have won material due to a capture which probably happened on c4… the discovered check was what they both missed.

Also there is a new passed pawn

I generally don't like posting my opponents goofs because I wouldn't want someone to do that to me. I do know this opponent is not in this group, and I'm posting this without their screen name revealed to respect their privacy.

And yet, SHEESH, the image of the king in its castle with an ENTIRE army to protect it is striking to me. My opponent literally forced my queen into a better position with their b pawn and THEN just kept the back door open like it was the first warm day of Spring. Why not just invite me over for tea? tongue

(Full disclosure, I often do the same thing).

My very first "Brilliant" move, sacrificing my knight to stop a passed pawn, only to blunder my one and only precious pawn a few moves later, lol.

One funny mistake I made recently was playing 3.f3 against 1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 (French) thinking why not just try it similar to against Caro-Kann grin. I did not take a second look before trying this. Soon after playing it, I realized that the difference is huge.

I am white here. After playing a game, I'd be proud of, and spotting a nice tactic, I mis clicked f3 here, losing the game 😂
