Well, I guess the main issue is that you let your bishop get trapped behind his own pawns. When he played 19...g5 your alarm bells should start ringing as your bishop is running out of squares. Probably 20.Bxd6 was a better choice: exchange your bad piece for his good/better piece. I think in this case after 20...Rxd6 this exchange has not even helped Black. His rook on d6 is not really well placed.

Also, he would never ever exchange your bishop actively, as that would un-double your f-pawns. So actively trading yourself probably made a lot of sense.

As it turned out, in the end you were playing essentially without your bishop, he was completely out of the game. Your opponent recognized this nicely.

Last chance to exchange the bishops was on move 23.

What is there to analyze? You played an unsound opening and were lucky you opponent missed to punish you when he had a chance after your premature e-pawn push. Then he fell for a cheap mate.

https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/live/121811868552?tab=analysis&move=114 I am very proud of this game yet I still don't understand why trading the pieces with the knight was better than taking the free pawn with the bishop. Also I find my self playing brilliant moves but then playing the incorrect idea afterwards, how do I avoid this?

Sorry to disturb everyone. Could someone analyze my game and give me some pointers. Just feel really down by my results recently (Even in winning games where the wins for me have come due to time or luck)

In my opinion, take more time to consider your moves.

Generally speaking, the weaker player we are, the longer the time format we should be playing. Why? Because it takes time to find better moves. Playing the first move that comes to mind is often not the best. Yes, it usually is when you are a strong player because intuition is much more evolved. But for us weaklings, we have to develop that first.

You had lots of chances to play better moves and close the game earlier. Ideally you (but me too) should consider at least 2 if not 3 moves on each move and weigh the pros AND CONS to the best of our calculation ability. For example which check is better of the 2 or 3 that I have. This takes time and effort. Also we must not expect our opponent to play the move we ideally want. Usually he too has at least 2 or 3 moves he can play, like deciding with which piece to capture or recapture or where to place a knight etc. etc.

I see, thank you for the advice!

The tip i can give: NO BLUND! Use the geometry!

I think I need to work on my tactics. My opening, middle game and endgame was pretty good in this game. I missed however that the opponent could have won a pawn that was protected by a bishop when I moved it. The opponent could have won it by threatening my knight in the middle with the queen and then fork my not-yet castled king and the pawn that got loose by inaccurate play.
