The following part of a game is taken from one of my latest games, far from a masterpiece, however very instructive.
The reason I call it instructive is the way it shows a typical response by an expert player (my opponent, 2144) to a potential threat. Yes, not only you are lazy, sometimes we all are! still, you must look at your opponent's potential threats (tactical motifs- checks, captures, pressure and tension) very deeply, and analyze the variations until the point of quescence (where there are no longer tactical motifs for either side), simply trusting that your opponent did the same when he reached the 3rd stage of analysis, which is tactical evaluation of the position. There, one looks for tactics that can favor him better then positional play.
I think the game shows a very good example of the said above.
My question to you about this game- look at move 15 for both sides, one time for white and the other time for black, and provide full analysis (threats analysis, positional evaluation, tactical evaluation) to try and decide whether what was played is indeed best or maybe you can come up with something better.
