Game Presentation

Hi, I'm hoping one of the experts on here can help me out. The presentation of my Daily Chess Games changed slightly yesterday and I don't like the new format. I'm not sure if it's something I've done or something chess.com has altered.

My name and the name of my opponent used to appear on the right hand side of the board along with the moves, chat etc. They now appear above and below the board which is subsequently a little smaller.

Any thoughts, I much preferred the older presentation.

Have you changed browswer? Or the resolution of your monitor? - These things can affect how the game displays.

Just had a look at mine  - if you choose focus mode, you get the game on a full screen board with the player's names on the right - the button for it is in the middle - looks like 4 little arrows pointing away from each other

Thanks Bigbad, Someone else suggested it was to do with the "Focus Mode" but I can't find the "button". Where is "in the middle" ? When I've got the game up I can't find four little arrows anywhere.

Many thanks Bigbad, but my screen is slightly different than yours (I use an apple mac). In the middle where you've indicated the "focus mode' icon, I only have three icons "settings", "drag to resize" and "flip board", there's no focus mode. There are also some differences on the right hand side too. Many thanks for trying. I'm wondering whether there's been some update that I've missed. Cheers Alan

Hi AJ, No, the board I have now and which I'm not so happy with, is like your top illustration. The board I had previously, and which I much prefer, had the players names on the right hand half and the board was bigger - filled the space - on the left hand half.

I wonder if the differences are to do with what hardware we're using, though why the presentation on my applemac should have changed in the last few days I cannot fathom.

Problem not solved but if there are others experiencing this there is now an interesting discussion, including a chess.com staff member here www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/change-in-settings 

No solutions yet but at least it's not something I've done !
