The only cool thing about this game was the 3 brilliant moves... But how did I blow this lul.

8. d5 was definitely a mistake, you have the more active pieces +more space and should be looking to open the center. Instead, after 8. dxe5 dxe5 9. qxd8 rxd8 10. fxe5! white wins an extra pawn with tempo on the knight. Alternatively, you could play 8. fxe5 and after 8. dxe5, 9. d5! with a strong central bind

also how were any of those moves brilliant lmao

Actually the one made slight sense

The other 2 ehh

actually, 10 fxe5 would be inaccurate because it allows ng4, so 10. nxe5 would actually be a free pawn

what the heck everybody would play Rxe7, and obviously everybody would play bxc3.

And lol, I feel kinda weird (like why is a 470 telling a 2000 something like this) but like they always say about an endgame, "[as black] Pawn to the second rank with check is a win, pawn pawn to the second rank without check is a draw." And as white of course it's pawn to the 7th rank.
