Whenever i start my minecraft, it keeps downloading when i click play when its even dine downloading. My version is 1.7.10
If you want to play Mc 1.7.10 (Or any version for that matter) Hit "Edit profile" in the bottom left corner then, next to "Use Version" hit the scroll and choose which one. Once you've chosen, click it and hit "Save Profile" then click "Play/Play Offline"

Nope..Like i said before..If i click play..It just downloads again and again..
Let it sit overnight downloading. Maybe it's stuck on the very last thing.
If not, look at the downloader log. maybe there was an installation error
That happened to me as well. I went afk to go eat lunch, and when I came back, it was done :D
Go to My Computer. In the address bar, type '%appdata%' (Without quotation marks) then click '.minecraft' and copy that to a safe place. Next, delete the '.minecraft' folder in Appdata and run minecraft and login. Now, if you have any saved worlds, go to '%appdata%' and in the '.minecraft' folder, there will be a 'saves' folder. Go to there and grab the backup '.minecraft' you saved. Take the files from it's 'saves' folder and drop em into the appdata minecraft saves.

Or you could bring up 'Run' (windows) type %appdata%"(without quotes, like chessmaster said) and do the exact thing above.
minecraft 1.8 had allready came out! when u want to use either the older or the newer versions u have to go on mc laucher and click the "Edit Pofile" button and choose the version u want to play if u are playing older versions u can dowlaod minecraft forge or just keep on downlaoding minecraft over and over ................
