The next major Art phase, (i think)  was Egyption Art.

In college, I ran cross country,(with two work outs a day), 4 classes and a Job at night... and the Art History class was right after lunch..the Professor would dim the lights and show slides and talk very slowwww.

so I fell asleep....but, some how i got through it with a passing grade.

Here comes the Amazing period that i really like... The Renaissance..

Next we enter "Mannerism and Baroque"

Ithink this is a time when people had really good manners and tried not to Baroque any dishes...lol  Either that or the were very polite people who invented mannequins, (which i am afraid of)...:'(

Okay...it was really a subtle change..a relaxing of the human figure...the subject could now demonstrate  a shift in the hips and tilt of the head...turning of the shoulders..Ponderism and subtle body language that would show emotions.

sorry about the kitty pictures...they always want in on the act!

I think the first 2 cats are rococo, but not sure if the last kitty belongs to mannerism, it looks more like naturalism Tongue Out

Okay, you already put one of my favourite paintings (the Napoleon one), so I´ll put another one that I like:

Avatar of Puss_N_Boots

wow...this painter was able to capture and portray emotions of the Horses. that's very impressive..  they seems to be sympathetic to the man and wanting to help him.

I can see why you like this one, Panda.!

Avatar of petitbonom

under Modernism surely we need Art Nouveau, and Art Deco, the Bauhaus,in fluence is major.

Avatar of petitbonom

Its all those angles and corners they invented.

Okay...we will be there soon...and I'll look them up...(right after the Tuna era)...when cats thrived...Here is a rare painting that the church

discovered...lol..(hidden in a pile of dicarded canvasses)... no one knows who painted this one !  (or why)
