How Did Opposite Cooperation Start?

Were they banned because they prearranged a team, or were they banned because they played in their best interest? Those are two very different things. I doubt it's the second as you're not even high enough rated to play in games where opposites cooperate.

You don't understand the bigger picture. Only the opening is played as teams. Once one player is eliminated, everyone plays to weaken everyone else. Free For All means that you can team up however you choose within the rules. The reason for teaming in FFA is only due to the geometry of the board and the starting number of players - 4. Bad for balance, good for teaming. If the game started with 3 players, there would be no such alliances.

Really? I disrupt and damage? All the rapid FFA games I play above the 2600+ threshold, everyone understands and participates in opposite cooperation. Who exactly am I dumping "garbage" on?

They may well have been banned because of offensive chat, pre-arranged team or whatever, but certainly not for FFA 1st stage cooperation that is strictly conform to the RULES of the game. Free-For-All means what it says. Anybody is free to play the way he/she wants, like put the queen apparently at risk, even if for a noob it may seem total nonsense.

Why do you go to a place you know you don't belong, to deliberately make a shambles of the game, spoiling the joy everyone else gets from the challenge of 4 player chess ? If you don't go there to begin with, you don't have to worry about people firing at point blank range. And what the Heck are you talking about with that remark ? I don't get it. Don't go places you don't belong just to break the rules. Do you have such low self esteem that you need to cheat at a game just to better about yourself ? Take a hike and go get some mental help.

Typewriter44

Have you read the rules?

DoubleSpeedRocks

Yes I have and let me guess, you have too but you could care less. Again, why deliberately go into an area you don't belong just to spoil the game ? Ignorance ? Arrogance ? A God complex ? Sheer stupidity ? Which is it ? Cause  I don't know.

Typewriter44

Which part of the rules prohibits cooperating with other players?

DoubleSpeedRocks

In other words, you don't feel like answering the question and are throwing it back at me to mask your own lack of any ground to stand on. I do not feel like participating in this thread any further, as your last post makes my point nicely.

spacebar

You're the one with no ground to stand on, you say people are breaking rules, but you can't show us where the rule that is being broken is written. Ay, cause there is no rule prohibiting cooperation. Free for All means just that, people are free to play and team up as they like. If you don't like the rules, we are sorry, but it's just the way it is.

@spacebar is the literal developer of 4PC. Get the facts right.

I didn’t say it was, but even then I already told them before and they brushed it off as if he was another cheater…

What is so fascinating about people who adamantly say "no teaming" is that just about every single one of them quickly runs from the conversation when others have shown the logical inconsistencies in their argument. It is an interesting psychological question why those who tend to be the most adamant in their expression also appear to be so fearful of being seen as incorrect by others (despite the fact that for mature adults, there is nothing wrong with admitting to being incorrect).

icystun

How do you deal with that, and possibly help them? @liquid-sun

A good question. I don't know if there is a good answer quite yet. I think the first step is understanding the psychological nature (motives and likely neurological processes) of such individuals.

Yeah, no.

If people were banned as a result of your report, this means they were:

  • Actually engaging in prearranged teaming (with each other, across multiple games, not opposite cooperation)
  • Alting
  • Teaming in chat (not allowed)
  • Being toxic in chat
  • Other (offensive usernames, etc.)

We don't ban people for opposite cooperation.

As their friendly neighborhood admin you could probably message them all of the cases, unless that’s considered publicly shaming the banned…
