you can just click on a new game and it will tell you, that there is still a game running and you get into it.

Yeah this has nothing to do with beta
You have No games in progress
Basically if you click in your name, it will show in progress games.

Martin a lot of these issue are probably due to the server issues right now. I is becoming increasingly difficult to view games. my ongoing games no longer show up on my homepage.
have you any idea how long we will be having these problems
The post Martin refer in another place was like around 3 more weeks...

The estimate was 2-3 weeks from the blog post for all changes to get done.

Whenever I close the tab the chess game is on I cannot find how to go back to that game.Can anybody tell how?
