Welcome aboard and I look forward to hearing your conversion story.
how I found the group...
i only found the group through a friends group list last night, and behold, i found refuge! i was born and baptised catholic, pulled out of catholic school and sent to a protestant school at 5, told i was now just a christian. when i asked "what am i dad, as all the other kids are catholic or protestant i got a swift angry answer "your christian!"?! When asked what this meant, i was told "I believed in Christ"....OH REALLY?????? LOL..my grandad was athiest and was always questioning religion, science and whatever else came to mind in a nice calm demeanour, so i decided to follow his guidance rather than the angry short answered doctrinations of what seemed like an angry confused Dad! So here I am. Oh, did i mention at 5 i was also re-christened as a protestant? Talk about confusing a kid and opening a young mind to the nonsense forced upon us as children!
So, here's to a great looking group which I'm glad I found! Hope to chat and play you all soon. Count me in for any team matches and tournaments I'll happily fly the flag with ya'll.
cheers, Dave.
Hi Dave, and wellcome - somehow your story brought to mind this:

Well worth watching, if you haven't seen it already.

Here I was, about to start a friendly chess.com group for nonbelievers, and I found this group. Instead of going ahead with my plans, I decided to join up. So far I've enjoyed what I've read and hope to contribute as much as I can.
I'm a former Christian and currently atheist, and although I've learned not to rule out the possibility of shifting my own beliefs someday (after all, I've already done it once), I strongly feel like this is where I'll be for the rest of my life. I plan to share my story on here, but until then, thanks for putting the group together and I look forward to chatting with you all.
