Alright, this is the big one so get ready people!

1. What does "4PC" stand for?

2. What are the 3 modes?

3. What is the default time control for a standard game?

4. What is the value of the regular pieces there? (Pawn, Knights, Bishops, Rooks, Queens, Kings)

5. What is a fairy piece?

6. How many fairy pieces are in total?

7. What is a Knight-Rider?

8. How can you make a custom game? (Explain Steps)

9. How to submit that game to CGAs? (Explain Steps)

10. With a 8-line paragraph, explain what is FFA standard, what is it, the board, the pieces, how to play, how to win, draws, and some openings if you want too.

Winner gets 5 trophies!

Also here is an extra question to get 6 trophies (And the others correct)

3. 1/15D

4. 1/3/5/5/(varies whether 1pt or not, but usually 9)/20

5. A non-orthodox chess piece, that is not present in standard chess and has different movements.

6. 21

7. A knight which takes a consecutive series of moves in a single direction, potentially capturing only once, and can be obstructed like a rook or bishop.

8. Press A, switch to edit position and drag pieces onto the board of different colors. You can also add rules via icons on the right side of the screen, or manually edit FEN4 if you know notation.

9. You should firstly create a custom position, join the 4PC custom games club, play 10 games of your position with at least 8 unique players over a span of 24 hours, supply time control and game rules, and a screenshot on a new forum topic.

10. FFA is a mode on concave 14*14 board, lacking 3*3 square area at four corners. At each edge of the board, a default chess army is placed, symmetrical for every player, 4 players in total. You get 1st place by managing to obtain more points than all of your opponents at the end of the game. Pawns promote as in chess, but upon advancing 6 squares forward. Upon capturing a piece, you obtain a certain number of points, which are accumulated. Checkmating king gives 20 points to player who made the last needed checkmating move. Checking two kings at once with anything but a queen gives +5, otherwise +1. +5 and +20 for checking all three kings with a queen or not. Stalemating yourself gives you 20 points. If you resign with more than 2 players in-game, your king becomes a zombie and makes random moves.

5. It's a piece which moves differently from the regular ones.

6. 21

7. Its a fairy piece that does continued knight moves in the same direction.

8. press a and then go to edit position tab. Edit the position and set the rules. Then click new game.

9. 4PC custom games club forum. You need 10 games with a span of more than 24 hours, at least 8 players and 5 from the final version. You also need a screenshot, the rules and a name. The thread should be titled NCP - Name / WoF - Name.

10. The board has 160 squares and is cross shaped. There's an inner 8x8 square with no pieces.Then an empty line and then the normal army.

The pawns promote to 1 point queens on the 8th rank, but can be switched to QRBN also being standard.

The goal is to score the most you can, and after all players are eliminates the player with the most points wins. When a player is checkmated all the pieces become dead (grey) and dont grant points if captured, but works as blockade.

Resigning will make al your pieces except the king dead. The king will move randomly.

Finally, getting stalemated before resigning or timing out grants you 20 points. Otherwise they will be shared between remaining players.

In case of threefold repetition, 50-move-rule, there will be shared 20 points between the remaining players.

@MayimChayim I know right....... What a sad waste of time..... talliholic is an odd person (like a journalist xd).

MayimChayim

LOL mean

HighEldar

1. What does "4PC" stand for?

4 Player Chess

2. What are the 3 modes?

FFA, Teams, Solo

3. What is the default time control for a standard game?

1|15D - 1 minute with a 15 second delay

4. What is the value of the regular pieces there? (Pawn, Knights, Bishops, Rooks, Queens, Kings)

Pawn = 1pt
Knight = 3pt
Bishop = 5pt
Rook = 5pt
Queen = 9pt
Pawn-promoted Queen = 1pt
King = 20pt

5. What is a fairy piece?

A piece that does not feature in the standard conventions of regular chess.

6. How many fairy pieces are in total?

Debatable - There are 21 fairy pieces available to use in custom 4pc games here on chess.com but the conventions of creativity mean there could well easily be plenty more in the future and some may even exist on other websites or within circulation of peoples private games.

7. What is a Knight-Rider?

Its a peice that can move like a continued knight (for example an L shape of 1 square across and 2 squares up OR 2 squares across and 4 squares up OR 3 squares across and 6 squares up and so on), and although it can jump over usual pieces like a knight in the traditional sense... if any of the squares it could potentially land on within a "jumping direction" are occupied by another piece then the Knight-rider can only land on that piece and no further.

8. How can you make a custom game? (Explain Steps)

Set up an analysis board, on the side bar click on the "Edit position" tab, click and drag pieces or fairy pieces onto the board and edit the rules with the "more options" dropdown.

9. How to submit that game to CGAs? (Explain Steps)

Go onto the official 4PC Custom Games club forum and submit according to the rules specified on the thread on How to Submit New Custom Positions. If needing assistance you can also learn how to create custom positions here.

10. With a 8-line paragraph, explain what is FFA standard, what is it, the board, the pieces, how to play, how to win, draws, and some openings if you want too.

FFA standard is a variant of 4 player chess where players take turns in finding the best position for themselves on the board. Gameplay success is determined by points where various actions will earn a player points. The player with the most points at the end of the game is determined the winner, the person with the second most points comes second and so on.
The player who comes first in a standard FFA game will be awarded the most rating points, the person who comes last will be penalised the most and 2nd and 3rd place will win or lose a few points respectively. Checkmating a King will award 20 points, a stalemated King will award all remaining players 10 points, draws are determined by players having the same ammount of points as others. In the standard variation of the game a pawn will promote to a Queen that will only be worth 1 point when captured. For an in depth explaination on how to play 4PC FFA standard check out this guide from Chess.com. You can also join the official 4 player chess University - a club for study of the main 4pc variants (FFA, solo and teams).

Extra: Rather than explicitly naming openings I will give you this link to a thread that names a few FFA openings for your consideration, here.

- I will give you an explanation on Teams later, but for now I am needed elsewhere :0

HighEldar

I might be a while with my Teams explanation because I'm gonna get drunk with my gf instead xd

You can check out the same guide I mentioned in the previous thread for Chess.com's explaination on 4PC because an explanation on the rules can be found there aswell :V

@HighEldar Your explanation is the best with complete answers! I will give @TheUltraTrap and @bsrti 3 hours to post their teams. If they don't then you win the 5 trophies!

TheUltraTrap

Teams: The board is same as in FFA, but pawns promote to QRBN on 11th rank. Players team their opposites to checkmate a player from the opponent team. no points, just the mate. Stalemate is a draw. There is a nice opening called "twin queens" where the queens come out in the same way inside a team.

50-move-rule is draw. 3-fold-repetition is also.

A good tactic in my opinion is to double attack a player, so only one of your team's pieces gets captured and the other can capture.

Another good tactic is to check someone so your teammate can prepare to capture a piece.

well, he missed a point: a stalemated king earns 20 points to that player, and if its zombie king, these are shared. If 2 remaining players then 10 - 10, if 3 remaining, 7 - 7 - 7.

So in this point he only considered one of the possibilities.
