In the #6 example, the “points” are even, but the values of pieces should be slightly different. For example, amazons are 8, rooks are 4, and sergeants are 2. Red has 24 points, which overpowers Yellow’s 16. In smaller 4PC boards I think that point values for pieces are not best, so P4M rules, for instance, would be a fair solution in those situations as long as it doesn’t take away the desired outcome (my WoF doesn’t work because zombie royals don’t award points). Storming the Castle doesn’t even use points, anyway, because it is Teams.

I was browsing a lot of posts about variants because I was excited after creating a crazy new custom position, only to find out you don't like horses! Jokes aside can't believe I created the position in the first pic (except the pawns were regular) and I thought it was gonna be the hot new thing (I still think it's pretty fun).

I mean, knightchess isn't too bad if you manage to make it interesting (see Amazon Safety and Versatility), but just buffed pieces on its own isn't good.
I'm bold enough to say that, at this point in time, any 2p rectangle-board position that's just a row of pawns and 1-2 rows of pieces with no other game rules isn't unique.

Keep in mind though that with enough design and testing effort, that a “small variant” can still be accepted. In the case of Minihouse, even an NCV with enough theory and all-around variety.
