How to Create a Team Match Challenge in the New Club Design

Here is a quick guide to setting up matches that was posted by TMCL TD @stephen_33, which I have amended for the CC23 U1300.

• From your own club, click on 'New Event' (opens the 'Tournaments' page)
• Scroll down to 'New Daily Club Match'
• Fill in details of the challenging club and the club you want to challenge (enter the first 4 letters of the club name and matching club names will be shown)
• Enter match title (CC23 2023 U1300 R7: etc). **Note that the club names are not now added automatically, you will have to type these in.
• Check/enter type of game (Standard Chess) and time control (3 days)
• Enter start date and time, remembering now to also enter '00' in the minutes field!
• Under 'Players', enter 1300 in 'Rating Max' box
• For 'Players Per Club', enter the minimum for your division in the Min box
• You must now disable AutoStart! because it's set to On by default (move the slider to the left)
• Once you're fully satisfied that your challenge is correctly set up, click on Create.

You can also set these up by clicking on the team link in the announcement:

• Click challenge on the club page you are challenging
• Scroll down to Daily match and select it.
• Fill in the relevant boxes as set out above
• Enter match title (CC23 2023 U1300 R7: etc). **Note that the club names are not now added automatically, you will have to type these in.
• Check/enter type of game (Standard Chess) and time control (3 days)
• Enter start date and time, remembering now to also enter '00' in the minutes field!

Of course Chess.com will do something that will change your instructions shortly. I don't think they are interested in team matches.

They always change things that make the site infinitely worse.

In rare good news, we can again view members sorted by daily chess rating, and once again view matches and members of opposing teams.
