Practise with the chess bots of your target rating with or without time control. So if your rating is 650 and target is 1000 then practice with the bots between 1000 to 1200. You will lose initially but also you will gain a lot of experience and know how to make combinations!

Try watching Gotham Chess videos and do puzzles. After watching Gotham chess videos, my rating went from 800 to 1100

Consistency is key. For me a game changer is to see GM's and other great players explain their tactics

Even though he hasn't responded yet (lol), I would like to say, try watching videos that target what you're weaknesses are (if you know yet), and focus on his older and popular (as in most watched) videos. Lately his stuff isn't geared towards chess improvement content.

Yeah, I was just wondering on like either Gotham guide or win at chess. I have already watched his chess tips videos.

If you're 650 then I would recommend getting his book

Avatar of Chicken

Yeah but it’s totally possible to get to 1500 or higher without paying anything.

well if you wanna learn than I recommend getting it

if you don't care about putting in the work or whatever and you only want to achieve your rating goals than idk what to tell you lol

My parents won’t let me lol.

Hi

I watched some of your rapid games, and it appears to me that you tend to play very fast. I would say that you should spend more time considering the entire board. Even if the move seems obvious. Ask yourself: "Is there a faster way for me to reach my goals?", "Will this trade benefit or hurt me in the future?". Second thing is puzzles. Go to chesstempo and to them there - I would say about ten each day is enough since they are rather difficult for your level, but try to solve each one of them correctly. Third thing - You should probably watch some youtube stuff - I recommend NM Robert Ramirez - He is the one who got me from 0 to 1400 - His course is really great and it is completely for free.

Good luck!

just play slower and have a thought process behind every move, if you know enough tactics and positional ideas that can get you to at least 1200.

I suggest getting familiar with new openings or watching pro games but when I changed my opening play I became better and went up from 624-1586. Watching Gothamchess or GMHikaru also in a nice way to learn.
