How to stop tilt

Just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to stop tilt (losing a game then getting mad and repeating ad infinitum). I kind have had a problem with it in the past, (I once dropped from 1800 to 1600 in a matter of days) but I think I’ve got the problem kicked, wondering if anyone else has any tips on how to handle it.

Basically, If I lose two games in a row, I will stop playing chess for a couple of hours and go and do something else. It has been working for me and it might work for some people too

The worst part about tilt is our ego. It does not accept that we are weak ( like me , I am a 1800+ player. If I lose a game to another 1800, it is acceptable and I resepect it. But if Iose a game to 1700 or 1600 ,its becomes matter of self respect and I lose 200 elo in a singke night )😭.

you don't stop tilt, its a weekly/monthly cycle for me

It depends on why you go on tilt. If you go on tilt because of how much you're trying to hold on to your rating then you need to wake up to the reality that your rating will improve with the quality of your chess.

If it's because you feel it's normal, know that it doesn't have to be. You can make steady progress.

If it's because of your emotional currents then try to think of the good times before the game. Remind yourself of pleasant memories.

No matter whatever else it may be there is a way to stop it.

I think for me it’s mostly the first one. More concerned abt my rating than my chess
