Hover over "social" -- I see forums.

BTW, has there been an announcement of this on chess.com anywhere?  Or, is this one of those software changes that effects everybody immediately that they pushed without bother to tell folks?

It's just in beta right now, from a member perspective. Which happens in beta

We're working on it! This being beta, things aren't finalized yet—our apologies for the inconvenience.

It's there now.

Two things:

1.  I apologize for jumping the gun -- I asked a few friends and they saw it too, but I didn't realize they were also beta, and so I assumed it was rolled out for everybody

2.  That said, why wasn't there a notice about this in the Beta forum/blog/area?  A short article to let us know what was happening (which, I would think, in the long run would result in less work because fewer folks would post asking "what's happening")

Is there an easy way to check if you have new messages from the new interface.

I can't say why it wasn't posted about, but a lot of more minor things aren't.

Just clicking on Home

I hear you.  But I don't see it as minor.  Everybody uses the Nav bar on the left all the time.

Martin_Stahl

It's certainly very well used, but I'd personally put it in a category less than major

It takes some getting used to but is something that is fairly intuitive to see what's changed and really isn't functionally that different. Most of the changes that get News releases are pretty large changes or completely new features.

But there’s no way to get updates without clicking on stuff?

Martin_Stahl

Browser based notifications is the only thing in the current system as far as I'm aware.
