It's been a while since I've shared anything bird related, so here's something I found today.
These are small 'sap wells' drilled by a pair of Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers (a woodpecker species). I did see the pair of Sapsuckers nearby. They drill these small holes not to get the sap itself, as their name suggests, but to get insects.
