I think CGAs could add support for variant tournaments
I am looking for Chess.com admins to organize KOTH tournaments!

We will probably discuss this in more detail with the rest of the admin team as the other variants get merged, but thanks for letting us know

Hi guys,
I am the owner of the largest KOTH club on Chess.com (1,700 members) and I am looking for Chess.com admins to organize KOTH tournaments. I saw in @JuditSztaray's latest announcement that we need to come here for help in order to recreate variant arenas in a club.
do you mean king of the hill

Yes

Hi @RAPHAEL1127,
Please clarify: How many tournaments need to be created? Do you have, for example, a Google spreadsheet with the desired schedule? How many players participated in the tournaments? (Can we see some links to completed tournaments?) Which tournaments should be open to everyone, and which ones should be open only to members of your club?

Hi @BabYagun,
I don't have a Google document for this, but I can give you the relevant information here. For this competition, we would need 20 KOTH arenas reserved exclusively for members of my club.
Last year, we had 61 participants across all 20 arenas, and it's worth noting that this number increases with each edition. It should also be noted that after the arena phase, the rest of the tournament is played in 1-on-1 KOTH matches.
Here is a useful link to see the results:

All the important resources from the previous edition (with all the arena links):
I hope this is okay with you

Hi @RAPHAEL1127,
Thank you for the links.
Please describe when you need these arenas, time control, etc.
For example:
We need 20 KOTH arenas (Time control: 5 min + 2 sec increment.): 5 tournaments per day from October 22 to October 25.
Arena times: 2PM, 5PM, 8PM, 11PM.
Time zone: ...

It would also be helpful to know what you want the names of the arenas to be, as well as what you want in the game chat description (which shows up in game chat at the start of every game); a caveat I do want to point out is that I think chess.com may take issue with the usage of the term "World Championship", but other names like "Club Championship" would be OK. All of this in addition to what @BabYagun has requested would especially be helpful if you plan on using these arenas for something series-based (e.g., a Grand Prix, a Championship Qualification, etc.), compared to just normal regularly scheduled arenas.

Start of the competition: Monday, October 20, 2025
We need 20 KOTH arenas between October 20 and October 28.
Here is an example of the different schedules for the arenas each day and their time control. First and foremost, I need to propose this to the club members to find out when people are most available.
Days | 1st arena | 2nd arena | 3rd arena |
Monday 20 | 11 am (3 min) | 4 pm (3 min) | 11 pm (1 min) |
Tuesday 21 | 2 am (1 min) | 8 pm (3 min)
Wednesday 22 | 12 am (3 min) | 5 pm (3 min)
Thursday 23 | 3 am (3 min) | 6 pm (1 min) | 10 pm (3 min) |
Friday 24 | 11 am (3 min) | 4 pm (1 min)
Saturday 25 | 6 am (1 min) | 9 pm (3 min)
Sunday 26 | 9 am (3 min) | 5 pm (3 min) | 11 pm (1 min) |
Monday 27 | 10 am (3 min) | 3 pm (1 min)
Tuesday 28 | 4 pm (1 min) |
So there are 8 1-min KOTH arenas and 12 3-min KOTH arenas. All of these schedules are in Paris Time Zone.
In the past editions, Some arenas did not have enough participants and were canceled, so we added “BONUS” arenas a few hours or days later to give everyone another chance to qualify.
To reply to @ChessMasterGS:
The names of the arenas would be "KOTH World Championship - Arena (and here you put the number of the arena, 1,2,...,20).
Here is the chat message: Welcome to one of the KOTH World Championship Arena! These arenas are qualifications for the duel phase of the Championship, the arena TOP 3 qualifies! Play fair and respect your opponent, GOOD LUCK!
Concerning the name "World Championship", I have already organized this competition under this name for three consecutive years without any problems. I am the only one proposing it, and I believe we have the right to use it. If Chess.com formally objects, please let me know.
I hope I answered all your questions, and note that the arenas schedules may change if they are not good.

Hi guys, here is the arena schedules table:
Days | 1st arena | 2nd arena | 3rd arena |
Saturday 18 | 11 am (3 min) | 4 pm (3/2 min) | 11 pm (1 min) |
Sunday 19 | 2 am (1 min) | 8 pm (3 min)
Monday 20 | 12 am (3 min) | 5 pm (3/2 min)
Tuesday 21 | 1 am (3 min) | 6 pm (1 min) | 10 pm (3 min) |
Wednesday 22 | 11 am (3/2 min) | 4 pm (1 min)
Thursday 23 | 4 pm (3 min) | 11 pm (3/2 min)
Friday 24 | 6 am (3 min) | 5 pm (3 min)
Saturday 25 |
3 pm (1 min) | 9 pm (3/2 min)
Sunday 26 |
9 am (3 min) | 4 pm (1 min) |
The competition begins on Saturday, October 18, and you can see all the schedules and game pacing for each arena in the table. The game mode is still KOTH. All schedules are in French time (Paris). All arenas last 1 hour, except for the very last one, which lasts 2 hours.
I hope that's okay with you, thank you.

My club organizes many arena-based KOTH competitions, as well as the KOTH World Championships (available only to club members), which we have been organizing for three years now. With this update to Chess.com variants, we can no longer organize anything, even though this is the very essence of my club.
If possible, I would like to get an admin's attention to help me restart these competitions or explain how to do so.
Thank you!
