I just started playing Hoplite battle royale, and I am so bad. I'm decent at PvP but it's a whole different game.

So basically, go either miner or looter kit depending on if you are good at looting structures quick. In both cases, rush smelter's pick (3 raw iron, 2 coal, 2 sticks). Then try and get diamonds. If you find 2, get enchants. If you get 4, try and get sharp 3 diamond sword with books and enchant table. If you only find 1, rush nether for the nether reactor core for magma cream and blaze powder. This way, if you get 6 magma blocks, you can use the diamond, 6 magma blocks, an iron sword, and the blaze powder for the Magma Club legendary which is a very good sword.

Then, you are all set. You can start snowballing by killing other players and eventually get full diamond and enchants if you are lucky. Also remember to go up to the surface to get apples and mine gold in caves to craft your light apples and golden apples. If you want, you canmake a bundle if you have time and with copper, make the shortbow. If you find no diamonds, just make the shortsword (8 copper and 1 iron sword). If you find a mineshaft, make shears to get cobwebs and get lots of iron for at least 2 water buckets and 2 lava buckets and maybe even a light anvil. This will ensure that you will win the first few fights if you are decent at pvp.
