Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.
I just wanted to share a little about what’s been going on with me lately, and maybe get some advice if you have any.

Lately, I’ve been feeling really different. I don’t know if it’s burnout—or in the worst case, maybe depression (though I’ve never experienced that before). I’m hoping and praying it’s not that.

I’ve noticed a few things:
• I’ve had almost zero energy, no matter how much I sleep.
• I’ve lost motivation for chess improvement and other things I care about.
• Sometimes I even find myself zoning out mid-conversation with family.
• And maybe the hardest part—I feel like I’ve been drifting away from the things I love, like anime and the games I used to really enjoy.

It could just be a phase, but since this is new for me, I’d really appreciate any tips or advice.

If you losing interest in things you used to like, then-you are becoming mentally mature, this is very common.

Maturity is deepening and increase in understanding of life, and development and growth of self-control and emotional intelligence. There is no way we can say maturity is loss of interests.

I have to disagree with you on this one, mentally mature people will know how to balance different things in life, and will understand the importance of hobbies and leisure activities to prevent overload or mental stress. So no this is not a sign of growth, although neither is it a huge cause for concern.

I was talking about some particular hobby's not all the leisure time, it is common to lose interest in some as you grow

That is loss of interest is not maturity. Its partially due to maturity not the maturity itself. Maturity may lead you to be able to tolerate and accept a day where you don't gain what you were interested in until we finally adjust without it. Maturity itself does not harm the interests, atleast if we preserve it

Maturity may cause a slight shift in interests, but usually life long or long time interests from childhood will remain. If someone suddenly finds themselves uninterested in something they've been into since young, that is not a sign of maturity. Maturity helps you balance responsibilities in life with your hobbies and leisure activities. It does not in any way cause you to lose interest, and if it does that means the person never matured XD. Simply put, maturity would help and benefit interests not take time or value away from them.
