I need help with chess

Hi everyone so in case you don't know, I'm trying my best to improve in chess as fast as possible. However I'm facing extreme difficulty in doing so, and I'm now either losing or maintaining elo at 1300ish. Here's a quick rundown of my progress, situation, playstyle, and weaknesses:

I started seriously playing chess around a month ago, or more precisely 21 days ago. Here's my stats of this month:

I'm currently at 54% WR which is needs major improvement.

Now onto my playstyle. Currently I only play London for White and Sicilian Defense for Black. I have a certain degree of experience in both (London more than Sicilian though), and my openings usually take shape evenly or better for me. However my middlegame skills of spotting and defending against tactics is very bad. I am already doing many puzzles per day on both chess.com and lichess, but what I can solve in puzzles is difficult to translate into mid-game vision. Finally, my endgame skills are improving but still very lacking, especially when it comes to pawns racing to promote.

Ok so above is a brief and (hopefully) easy to understand quick run-down of my situation. If anyone with a chess.com rapid elo higher than 1600, please share your ways, thoughts, and methods to rapidly improve in chess. My goal is consistent 200elo/week until 1800. I would also hugely appreciate if anyone were to be so kind to provide coaching for me for free, although I understand that is nearly impossible. Still, appreciate any support, thank you!

try historical games, i do that and ive gone up 270 rapid elo and 600 daily this year (while juggling school and other sports) i know im not that good but it works

I still know some endgames but when I play, it always ends in middlegame traps from me or my opponent

well it's not possible to improve without playing, but what is annoying is that you cannot improve *by* playing chess. I'm averaging 8.7 games per day in the last 30 days but my elo hasn't any significant improvement and my gameplay much less.

uh well historical games as in master games is nonsense to me since they think at such a higher level, trying to mimic them (such as brilliants) will usually result in blunders. I believe you are too, or more so.

I think I can you help you. Long when ago I was stuck on same rating as you for a long time so much that I almost gave up trying in improving but slowly I managed to go further and keep improving further to where I'm currently.

Also offered you pdfs of chess books I have and told you to DM me on discord. You said you gotta be looking for their free pdfs online before but then you did not respond to me

Yeah, what I'm saying is you need to play chess, but there should be other strategies that can be employed.

The point isn't mimicking master games; it's employing strategies and tactics as well as adopting a playstyle that matches what kind of chess you play. If you can really calculate the move, it shouldn't be a blunder rather than chucking a piece hoping it's a good move because even grandmasters spend a long time before they play a move, calculating all the lines. I think it's a common misconception that grandmasters can immediately see all the best moves, that's why classical chess tends to make you have a higher accuracy.

Also, I have made a chess club specifically for people who want to improve, by sharing resources and getting help from players who are higher rated than the one who need help, its named "Strategic learners".

Also, apart from this I also offered you pdfs of chess books I have and told you to DM me on discord. You said you gotta be looking for their free pdfs online before but then you did not respond to me

Thank you, firstly, what's your discord username again? 😅Also you improved from my elo to 1600 in 2 months which is really impressive, I would greatly appreciate any help! I'll join your club and dm you.

Well the problem is that I cannot calculate at all. All my moves are based on intuition and subconscious pattern recognition, and seldom do I actually calculate an exchange or see what will happen in 4 moves. Moreover I have absolutely no idea what kind of style I play, I'm neither positional nor tactical (I wonder if there's an in-between). Also I don't have time for any time control longer than 10|0 😅.

i can try coaching for free as i am done with my chess goals for this year, however this would be my first experience so cant make any promises

i think when you get locked in really even positions two of the best things to look for are exchanging knights for bishops, like when you threaten a queen and bishop with a knight to ensure you get one because bishops are better. The other is exchange even material (even sometimes when you are down a pawn or two) to get doubled pawns on your opponent. Even if you are down a pawn you are only losing really if its a passed pawn, which is why position is so important.

The transition from opening to middlegame and the middlegame itself are also where all the tactics are going to happen, since most people know what they are doing in the opening or middlegame even if they are new to the game. Also this may sound dumb, but you should know why you opponent makes every move that they make, so you can see if a tactic is maybe trying to get set up, or what positional weaknesses you have that your opponent is thinking about.

If you play faster chess you probably also get a lot of pattern recognition. That's generally good for improving how to get a better middlegame, although muscle memory is generally bad because everyone plays different.

I just told him about the club. I generally avoid advertising, here only to help him. But as you said I am going to edit my chats to remove the link
