I think the first thing of not having Inazuma ascension materials isn’t as big of a problem, you can get the character to 40 if you do the trial which is enough for an adventure rank 35, but I do see what you mean especially if you aren’t planning to do the quest or forgot to do the trial, and it would be nice if they had a shop accessible for newer players that sells these or something. I think another problem is resin, an ar 16 should not have the same resin cap as an ar 55, it should go up with your world level, maybe 160/200 by 8 and 120/160 at lower levels. I agree with the rest though

well if there was a shop that sold these items thatd kind of defeat the purpose of 'exploring' and 'boss battles,' which goes against what genshin wants
I think your idea is interesting and plausible Meower, but would having regional banners mean that there are no more rerun banners?
there are still reruns. like, for mondstatd, it could be klee for 3 weeks, jean for 3 weeks, eula for 3 weeks, etc. etc. and after all the 5 stars have gotten a turn, klee appears again. this applies to every region's banners, where basically they just repeat the 5 stars in that region over and over again

Then what about new characters? Are they going to have their own banner separate from regional banners?
i suppose theyll be added to the banner immediately. like say theres a new liyue 5 star, they just get their turn on the liyue banner when they're released and then another liyue character gets their turn and they get shoved behind the other liyue characters in priority
But if Sumeru comes out, then hoyoverse would either have to add a new character each time Sumeru's banner changes or extend the duration of the first few characters.
And to your point about whales having to spend more, if there is a consistent rotation, then theoretically, a person wouldn't have to whale because then they could get xiao and then patiently wait for klee because they know she'll eventually come back.
i suppose thats a valid argument. i guess hoyoverse could extend the duration of new character banners if they need more time but routinely swap out the old characters from other regions, i dont think anyone will be annoyed by that
also about whales, theyre still gonna be spending just as much, just not all at once. like right now whales are probably spending a lot to get con whatever on a character they want and then not spend for a long time, while with regionals im guessing most people would probably spend less but more consistently with constant character swaps for multiple characters
this isnt about artifacts or not enough pulling, im talking about the life of the game. they could increase the resin cap, sure, but i think the primos we get are enough
the problem is with regional banners is that characters will come back quicker for their reruns, which reduces people's chance of spending money on genshin. and hoyoverse wasnts more, not less money.
well with our current system, ive been saving for kazuha, and ive had nearly 100 days ever since yae's banner ended. ive had plenty of time to farm for primos. however, with regional banners, because reruns happen so much more frequently, id have to choose between zhongli or kazuha and i wouldnt have that 100 day period in between like i do rn. maybe whales would have an easier time getting characters, fine, but the problem i want to solve is not making more money, its the two i stated in my post

So if you haven't realized by now, Genshin has too very big problems that are becoming apparent as time goes on.
Firstly, pulling becomes awkward for new players. If you just got into Genshin and decided to pull on, say, Raiden's banner because she looked cool, you'll realize you can only really upgrade her once you get to Inazuma. Why? Her ascension materials. This currently isn't too big of an issue since Inazuma doesn't take too long to get to, but once we get to 4, 5, even more nations? The current system of banners aren't going to work for new players.
Secondly, with the number of characters gradually increasing, this means wait times for characters will be terrible. Like, imagine you want Zhongli. Each banner lasts around 3 weeks, and each new nation brings about 8 new 5-stars and varying amounts of 4-stars. I'll be focusing on the 5-stars. So let's say we're at the end of Sumeru, and we have 36 5-stars in the game now. If Zhongli rerun just ended, you'll be waiting about 735 days, or more than 2 years. Okay, sure, double banners might help, but that just cuts the time down to a year, which is still a really long time.
Now, my proposition is to add something called 'regional banners.' How this will work is that there will be a banner for each nation all put together. .
Imagine that there are 3 icons where the banners currently are, one for Mondstadt, one for Liyue, one for Inazuma, all side by side. More icons will be added when new regions are released. When you click on an icon, it divides into a weapon banner and a character banner. Each character banner can only contain 5-stars from that specific region, and each will contain different 4-stars (or maybe the same 4-stars, what do you guys think?) Each weapon banner will represent the character in the character banner. They all last 3 weeks, same as now. Although maybe they could be a month long, I don't know. Standard and Beginner are still there. When a player hasn't unlocked a region and tries to pull on a banner from that region, the game will have a popup that says 'Are you sure you want to pull on this banner? This character requires ascension materials you have not yet unlocked' with the options 'Yes' or 'No' under it.
I feel like this would solve those problems. Now the number of characters you can pull at a time increases by a ton, removing that wait time for your Geo daddy. It also helps with new players, since if they wanna pull on Mondstadt, why not? However, if you're alting on a new account and you want to get Yae, you can still pull even if you haven't unlocked Inazuma.
I also don't believe this hurts the sales as much. On the contrary, whales now have even more characters to spend on at a time. I want Xiao but I also want Klee! Well, they're both on right now, why not spend on both?
