In the beginning

In the beginning, when man had gained a rough understanding of his environment, he desired way too much, too fast, and then discovered that he was inadequate, that greatness was not meant for the vast majority, that his journey to death was at best a hobbly ride. To explain this, the abrahamistic religion (with along the way two reincarnations) was created; man was sinful, bad, inadequate, out of his league, etc. and the redemption would come from above, from a higher, better, spiritual dimension.

For a very long time this religion left its mark upon a large part of mankind, until after centuries of repression, whether or not as an intentional counter-movement, rationalism finally gained ground, which gave science an enormous boost and now there is again a struggle between different world views.
