You're right! I just looked it up, and per the official rules, "Castling is prevented temporarily: ... if the square on which the king stands, or the square which it must cross, or the square which it is to occupy, is attacked by one or more of the opponent's pieces...." So, the King can't be in, move through, or end in check; but the rook (or the squares in-between) can be attacked. Thanks for the correction!
