Reading the Board - Pawn Chains

The text in the above mentioned lesson says:

"Nicely found!  Black attacks White's the head of White's pawn chain, leaving White with an isolated pawn.  How should Black recapture on f6 to attack White's weak d4 pawn?"

I believe the first mention of "White's" should be removed.  Grammatically, the sentence does not make sense.

I think the apostrophe and the word "the" should be gone? correct me if i'm wrong

@Checkmatefun2018  Thanks for your input! happy.png  It's always good to get feedback on suggestions and concerns raised.

I would keep the apostrophe, as it shows possession of the "pawn chain", belonging to the White pieces.

"The apostrophe has two functions: it marks possession, and it is used in contractions to indicate the place where the letters have been omitted. In singular, possession is marked by 's, written immediately after the possessor."

As for the word "the", I believe it is bringing attention to the word "head" in the sentence.

"The is one of the grammatical words of English. It does not have any real meaning by itself, but rather it is used as a way of sending a signal about other words. The words it sends signals about are always nouns."

Let me know if this makes sense @Checkmatefun2018?

@jonani has a better solution I think; the word White's should be omitted.

@erik  Thank you! happy.png  I try and take my time with the video lessons and read all the descriptors, as it adds value to the visual demonstrations for me.  I guess in this case it paid off! tongue.png

Yeah, the word "White's" is redundant and should be removed.
